Well... at this rate nobody's going to get drawn! It's a three-way tie. What the crap?

Come ON PKMN Trainer Red is winning, yo that is totally injustice. What's wrong with Red?

Votes are now closed! And the winner is (unsurprisingly) Red, the hero of Pokémon: Red, Green, Blue and Yellow versions.
A profile for the character will be up shortly. In the meantime, why not vote for the next Nintendo Star... Famicom Disk System stylin'

Red is one of the 13 most popular all-stars with Pikachu

I haven't done his profile, and it may not be added to the weekend (as I'm quickly overhauling the layout of the Nintendo Stars section), but I have done Red's art. I'll be honest... I started drawing him, and stopped the voting when I was pleased with the image

Ash is the star of the TV show and movies. Red is his computer game equivalent. Try not to mix up the two.

Well, the games were obviously adapted for a number of comic book series, as well as the cartoon. The character in the game has a number of default names which change depending on the version you're playing.
So the character has been imagined a number of different ways, and has been given a name each time. In Japan he is either known as "Red" or "Satoshi", while in the west he is either "Red" or "Ash".
Pokémon Gold/Silver had him as a final super-strong character for you to beat, and he was called Red in that, so I have taken that to be his official name. But yes, basically Red and Ash are the same character as seen in different adaptions of the games.

Fryguy, are you planning on doing the other Pokémon heroes in the far future? I think you should go with the name "Gold" for the GSC hero, but the RSE male hero has a default name that's not either Ruby or Sapphire if you decide to play as the girl (May), but I can't remember what it is.
