Well, I've been playing through Yoshi Topsy Turvy the past few days (frustrating as it is), and I'm finally stuck. If anyone else is playing this game or its Japanese counterpart, would you know how to get the gold medal in both 5-6 and 5-7? I really don't like the spirit who loves all things swift. A game that has time limits should have better play control

Haha, I have the game, but I kinda stopped playing it when I picked up some better games. Quality control was awfully lax on this title.
But I don't know the answer to your question, unfortunately. I'm taking it with me to see if I can complete it while I'm away, so I might know when I return.
But seeing as I'm taking five games it might not get played an awful lot.

I don't have this game myself, neither have I ever played it, but you could take a look on GameFAQs

Thanks. I checked GameFAQS already, though. Their Topsy Turvy faqs aren't that far along yet.

Yay! I got the gold medal in 5-6! If anyone else gets stuck there, I did it with 17 enemies defeated and 13 seconds left on the clock. You can probably do it with at least 10 seconds left. Also, if anyone needs help getting gold medals on previous levels, just ask.
On to 5-7...

I'm tempted to give up, but I'm on world 6 (which I hope is the last world) with all gold medals so far.
Earlier I mentioned that the levels with time limits were the most frustrating. I believe I misdirected my anger. The single most frustrating part of the game is when Yoshi turns into a ball. There is no way to control him. He just bounces along. Yet you need to collect coins with him or kill enemies. It brings back bad memories of Mario Pinball Land.
It also sucks when Yoshi turns into a boat, but it's not nearly as bad as the ball.

I don't know if anyone cares, but here's an update on my progress:
I've gotten gold medals on ALL stages and am currently on the final battle with Bowser.
The fifth world is the worst in my opinion. I'm looking forward to never playing this game again.
Edit I beat the game! And I might actually keep playing it because the challenge mode that you can unlock is actually really fun.

Explain challenge mode for me, if you will ;D

There are five unlockable challenge modes. The one that you unlock for simply beating the game is the best. You're randomly placed in any one of the areas from the main game and given a small objective (i.e, eat three apples, collect 9 coins, etc.) The goal is to try to complete as many areas as you can before you die or miss an objective. It's fun because the objectives are reasonable and there's no pressure to get gold medals.
The challenge mode that you unlock for getting all of the gold medals is a variation on the one mentioned above, and then there are three challenge modes that you unlock for completing the eggling gallery. These include a race to the finish as ball Yoshi, a contest to see how many rotations you can make on a pirate ship in a given time period, and a ski jump contest like the one from Wario Ware Twisted.

So from a scale from 1-10, 1 being the worst, and 10 being the best, how do you rate this game. How does it compare with Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Touch and Go?

So from a scale from 1-10, 1 being the worst, and 10 being the best, how do you rate this game. How does it compare with Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Touch and Go? -I'll rate a 5 -It doesn't compare with YI or YT&G, as this is a Yoshi's Story themed game with all-new story, stage structures, etc. It's standalone, not in-series with other stories. If you ask me which one do I like more, I like all the rest Yoshi games than this.

Hmm... the scale becomes a bit shaky. If, for instance, YI was a 10, then YTT would be a 1. But, if YTG was about a 6 or 7 (good, but too short), YTT would be a 3. Proof, should it be needed, that mere games should not be compared to Yoshi's Island But, basically, it's fiddly, ugly, and not very good. Definitely the worst of the Yoshi games... including Yoshi's Story (which is a firm 5, in my books - totally average).

Yeah, it's the worst Yoshi game. Only worth beating for challenge mode.

And even that might not be enough to convince me to beat it. After all... it's not like you're unlocking Bubbles from Clu Clu Land or anything as cool as that, is it?
