No Mario Party 8.
...
But seriously, I think the biggest disappointment was Phantom Hourglass. The stylus driven control just sounds like it will end up being really confusing. Maybe that'll change when I actually play it, but right now I'm not really too excited about it.
I was also disappointed by the lack of demos for GBA and GCN games. I know they wanted to focus on the Wii and DS, but I don't think it would have hurt to at least show Super Paper Mario and DK: Bongo Blast at the show.
It was still a great E3 overall.

The biggest (only?) disappointment for me was that there was no Kirby for the GameCube shown. But I suppose Kirby DS makes up for that.. Aye, Kirby for the GC was a big no-show. It looked good last year. I wonder if it was promoted to a Wii project...

I was acctually hoping for a Mario Party with Wifi. I do think the Wii's controller could have made Mario Party feel like new.

Hey, whats the deal with Diamond and Pearl? I feel like I've been hearing about these games for years, and they've got nothing to show at E3?

Actually, they DID show something of Diamond and Pearl at E3. There are pictures over at Serebii.net. I couldn't tell from the few screens there, but the landscapes looked kind of 3D, using sprites from Ruby/FireRed as textures.

Yeah, Pokemon was unveiled during E3, but not AT E3... in Famitsu magazine in Japan.
My biggest disappointment was that they didn't announce SSB3... but then they did... so really I can't say I was overly disappointed at anything ;D

Well dammit, they shouldn't be allowed to unveil things during E3 unless they're doing it AT E3! My poor brain can't handle several sources!

Biggest Disappointment: No Kirby GC
Other Disappointment: > Snake in an unappropriate game > The statement of more 3rd party characters in SSBB. There's a chance that I won't even bother to buy this game. > The fact (It's mostly fact now) that no Luigi playable in Super Paper Mario > The design of the Wii classic controller > Why no Luigi in Wii games? Bahhhhhh! > It seems that WarioWare is... still a single player game > Only 2 GC and 0 GBA games shown. We'll get to see the GC games in August (for Japan), though, and I was happy with that

I really don't get why everyone (read: some fanboys) are so upset by the inclusion of third-party characters in SSBB. Before it was unveiled I had pretty much assumed that a handful of third-party characters might make it in. Snake was a big surprise, as I would have thought a more "cartoony" character would have been shown first, like Pac-Man or Sonic.
I was only against the idea if it meant that some Nintendo characters were sidelined. But only a small handful is fine with me, and we already know they've added the two new characters I most wanted there, and that were cruelly neglected from SSBM: Pit and Wario.
In the years since SSBM I have come to appreciate videogames as a whole, rather than Nintendo games alone. I still rate Nintendo games higher than most, but there's no reason to think all third-party titles should be exempt.
Besides, closer links to third-parties in this way is always a good thing for Nintendo. And good for gamers... inclusion in SSBB might mean games in those series will appear on Wii, and sell better than third-party games tend to. That is the power of the Smash Brothers!!

FryGuy, I agree 100%. 3rd party characters is nothing to get upset about. The only change that could ruin Smash is moving from percentage based gameplay to traditional health-meters. Which characters get included can't change that totally unique gameplay. Looking at the new pictures of Snake on the official site, where it appears that his walking animation is sort of a cat-like sneaking around, I'm reassured that Snake is going to fit in perfectly (almost as a parody of himself) and probably be a blast to play as.
