Agreed. But Spike isn'a a gamer channel. Its more like a whole lot of stuff channel, I guess. G4 isn't Spike, nor can they fill that position, ever. I just think they need to return to the way they were before. They were good last year. Spike is supposed to be a male-oriented network, isn't it? They do have their own video game award show, the VGA's. It's terrible, but then G-Phoria isn't much better. G4 came under new management last year, thus the change in programming. Apparently, they decided to go in a less journalisitic direction, and instead provide related programming that's supposed to appeal to gamers. Even in official statements, they didn't make any effort to hide the fact that they were dumbing things down. For instance, Star Trek 2.0 is specifically meant to appeal to the "short attention span" of the current generation. (I like to call it the ADD version of Star Trek.) Almost adding insult to injury, G4 was never really all that sophisticated to begin with. Not that I have a problem with Star Trek. In fact, I love Next Generation, but it seems out of place on G4. Besides, the Spike network already beat it to death. But back on topic... X-Play's top 10 'Cube games... Yeah. Rock on. Kinda strange the videos haven't been uploaded to the site yet. The PS2 and XB videos have been up for days. Eh, the 'Cube gets no respect.

Yes, Spike TV replaced TNN and became the "Manly Man's" network. My point was that G4 these days is trying to outdo Spike TV by airing things like the Man Show. G4 IS supposed to be a gaming network. Corey summed it up pretty well above, but it bothers me. I never thought G4 was fantastic or anything, but I liked it more before it added all the filler content to it.

You know how I said we get X-Play on the Extreme Sports network? Well I forgot to mention where we get Attack of the Show, the other G4 product we have here: The 'How To' channel. How does that make sense? I don't know.
(actually, I do, I think - didn't G4 used to have alot of those computer help programs like Call for Help and whatnot? Which can also be found on our How To channel. But still, it seems really odd to flick past the How To channel and see three people arguing about whether Peter Praker revealing that he is Spiderman is a postive or negative plot development).

G4 bought out Tech TV a couple of years back, and for a while, shows from both networks continued to air. Call For Help, however, got concelled on the spot. A Canadian version was produced a short time later, and it continues to air on the Canadian version of G4, G4 Tech TV. For a while, that version was being reruned on the main G4 network, but even those reruns have since stopped.
Attack of the Show sure doesn't sound like it would fit in on a How To channel. The Screen Savers would have, and Attack of the Show is kind of a successor to it, but certainly not in a "help & how-to" kind of way. In fact, they don't really have anything in common.
