Hey guys, so I bought my girlfriend a DS (Coral Pink of course ;D) along with NSMB for our one year anniversary and she loves it. Her birthday is coming up and I'm looking to get her another game. So I turn to you for guidance, Nintendo Masters of the Universe. As far as her taste in video games... - She loves Mario Platformers, as you could see above. - She loves to argue with me so I figured Phoenix Wright could be an option, haha, but I don't really know too much about it. - I know she loves dogs and she used to have a Tamagotchi...so I was thinking maybe Nintendogs...but again, don't know much about the game. - Something tells me she wouldn't be into Brain Age...she doesn't strike me as a puzzle lover. Thanks in advance for the help fellas.

I would think Nintendogs is a good choice. It's a step up from Tamogatchi, but it's not too diffeerent. All the basics are the same

What about Mario Kart DS that's a "pretty easy to get into, difficult to master game."
Would she be interested in the Pokemon games?
If she is interested in Mario platformers you could try finding either:
Super Mario 64 DS. Super Princess Peach. Yoshi's Island DS.
Or you could try your luck and find one of the Super Mario Advance titles on the GBA or even the NES classic series Super Mario Bros (emulation of the original NES game) also on the GBA. Unfortunatly those GBA games (especially the NES SMB) might be quite hard to find.
Well this is my opinion, you might want to see some other forum member's suggestions as well.
EDIT My reply above could not get posted because I got logged out and would have been the first post, but like StarfoxRoy said Nintendogs would be a good choice, I think 40% of the people who bought that game in Japan were female.

What about Animal Crossing Wild World? I made a town with my sister, (who happens to be just a year younger than me) and while I've stopped playing it, she still does.

I'll give you a list of my DS games, being a gal and such - Super Mario 64, Nintendogs, Pokemans, Final Fantasy 3, Starfox Command, Warioware Twisted, Mario Kart DS. Going by your GF likings I say Nintendogs / Pokemans DP. But if she really does like platforming Mario, then why not Mario 64 DS. If she hasnt played the N64 version then its a fresh experience thats been updated slightly

Super Princess Peach was my favourite Mario spinoff this millennium. Bar none! I'd recommend it to anyone. Male or female. ;D

I guess SPP is ore than a spinoff...
And it's so far the best platformer in recent days. I guess it'd be very recommendable.
If you can find that in stores, that is.

There's a lot of second-hand copies of it floating about here. But really... it's like the missing link between Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island. It's easier than a lot of Mario games, sure... but it's excellent fun to play! It's not more than a spinoff. A spinoff isn't restricted to games of a different genre, but games related to a main series, but not part of that series. So Wario Land, Donkey Kong Country and the Yoshi adventure games are all spinoffs, even though they have their own spinoffs. If you tried to map them all it would look like a giant, incestuous family tree, with Donkey Kong at the head

Phoenix Wright is good but it can get very hard on the later cases. But I recommend it anyway!
I found SPP too easy to really enjoy, but that's just me. Everyone else here digs it more than I do, so that should speak for itself XD

And a few other games like that should set her straight.

The scariest part is Imagine Babies is actually real.

I looked it up. It's real.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
