Lets start looking forward to Animal Crossing! If you had to dream up the perfect Animal Crossing game, what would you add and remove?
I'd remove some of the more repetitive slog, you know, the stuff that makes it feel like work. And add in lots more events and random stuff, to keep me playing. And the events should be more special! Not just a gathering at the town hall and some pretty fireworks!!
And here's some ideas for the wi-fi elements: Create a Central Station you can reach by the train, where you can find different platforms to reach your friend's town (new platforms can be built to your specifications when you add new friend codes. I'd go for an Orient-Express style!)
Central Station would also be a meeting place for friends and random strangers (in a safe Stranger Plaza, Nintendo safety freaks!), and would also contain the Bazaar. Here's the best idea I've had for ages: your town would have a new resident - a carpenter who lets you carve items from stuff you pick up (like driftwood, or specially bought materials from Nook). Then you can head off to Central Station and sell your wares to your friends in the Bazaar! Your stall would be upgraded to prettiness if your wares are popular. I'd sell a Pokeball with a hinge that opens to reveal a lamp! Small items can be displayed in your house, bigger statues can be placed as focal points around your town!

Being able to decorate the town would be great. Set up a park, fill it with benches and lampposts and the like. I think that would go some way towards making it easier to be proud of certain things.
Have jobs! Earn Bells by flipping burgers or cleaning cars or maybe even buying and selling from a stand. Put in more minigames to alleviate the tedium of the game.
And ditch the N64-style graphics and go for better animation and character design. It doesn't need to be over the top, but it'd be so much more appealing.

Nah, that one's more for news, this one's for ideas.

I'd like it so that there was a central city, where lots of people could go to commute without friend codes and meet. The city would be huge and you could go there by visiting your town gate.

I'd like to be able to cook. Even if it's just the Paper Mario Cooking Engine. Being able to play your vc games from animal crossing, perhaps from buying a wii and a tv . It would be cool if you could make your own shows to go on TV via RSS on a SD card. Maybe hang a picture of a Mii on your wall. Some way to export your house to an SD card where it can be viewed as an image, to be rated at different places. Some sort of trading card game in the game.

It reminds me of the GCN AC's e-Reader cards, but now they are in the game. I would assume you idea would be totally different though, maybe something like those baseball trading card's from America?
Well, here some more idea's of mine.
Be able to put furniture up outside so you can have parties and stuff.
Put fireflies in lanterns for outdoor lighting.
Have some sort of Summer and Winter Olyimpics type competion once every two years that can also be played online.
Snowball fights and ice sports (like hockey, curling, skating) in winter, playing with leaves that have fallen on the ground in autumn to make elarborate pictures and images on the ground.
A jail cell in the police station where you get sent to (and special villagers passing through) and you can escape by diging out with your shovel.
Player created roof patterns. If we can change our shirts, umbrella's and other stuff with our own player created design's, why can't we change our roof tops?
Change the actual outside and inside layout of your home. An example would be having a house with a second story but there is no roof on that.

Here's a couple things I'd like:
1. Bring back some of the more traditional holidays. You can't just take Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Easter out of the game. You can call it something else and have it a few days off, but have it in there.
2. Let the player have some control over which people stay and go in the village. Let them select maybe three or four characters to be their best friends who can never move.

I don't think that can happen since those holiday's have like religious influences and stuff, they can't be put in the game because of Nintendo's religious censoring things. That was the reason why they were removed from AC: WW.

But, they could still be depicted in a way that masks their religious origins. Christmas could just be about presents and such, Easter could just have a big egg hunt, Halloween could have trick-or-treating, etc...
By the way, awesome ideas, everyone. I'm really looking forward to what they do with this...my primary want is updated graphics.

^ Toy day on the 23rd of December in the GCN AC was sort of like a mini Christmas and then on the night of the 24th Jingle the raindeer (wearing a Santa outfit) would come and you could get furniture in a Christmas theme. (It was called the Jingle furniture set by the way so as to not mention Christmas in the game). A few more ideas: Some sort of camara/photo mode and you could send pictures to the Wii's message board (like in the upcoming Pokemon Snap on the VC). Having some sort of photography competition like taking photo's of bugs . . . or something new in the game. I heard of people saying idea's like birdwatching but how is that possible when your villagers are sometimes bird characters? It reminds of this comicNDS link up, something like the GCN AC but way better, maybe the NDS could unlock your own boat for you to own instead of having Kapp'n appear with his own boat. This boat would be unlocked the first time you use the DS near the dock and would be available for you to use at anytime afterward's and you would not have to link the DS up again to use it. You could use the boat to go finish out in the ocean and go to the island as well and it could do other things as well, but I can't think of anymore idea's for it. New types of job's/task's for the player to do. Escort: The player must escort a tourist around the town to a certain place or house. Maybe taking the tourist (using the boat I mentioned before) to the island. Lost item search: The player must find a lost item that is somewhere around the town for a particular villager, you could even find the lost item before the you ask the villager to do the job. Also if the item is something you want you can just keep it and not return it to them but at the risk of getting a better item reward from the villager. Mail delivery: Pete (the mail pelican) is in need of a day off so the player must go around to the villager's homes giving them their mail.
