Fryguy64 is angry, and wrathful. I was sold our flat on an untruth. That untruth regarded access to broadband services and digital TV. I was told, when we visited, that it was fully broadband ready. It isn't... you can't even get broadband in the area. I could get a crappy dial-up connection, but that's all... indefinitely. I was told you could get digital TV! You can't. You can get a crappy TV package with basic channels, no extra BBC channels, cartoon channels or music channels - the three things I would watch on TV. I wasn't told that the toilet seat would stay up, the toilet/bathroom doors would lock, but I assumed they would. They don't. I don't mind truth-bending to sell something, but straight out lies is something else. Where does this leave NinDB for a while? Well, we'll just have to wait and see... maybe I'll be updating on dial-up soon... or maybe we'll just have to drill more holes in the house.

Ouch, that's not good at all. Sorry to hear that it isn't going to plan. Isn't there anything you could do since they just flat-out lied to you and was sold you property which is the exact opposite of what they said? It's kind of a major thing.
I hope you get it all sorted out soon.

So far: On March 11th I will have a temporary dialup connection that will keep me going for round-about a month until we can get the BT line installed. Then we should be able to get broadband (though not with BT... if you remember they were the reason the site wasn't updated for about a year). We aren't tied into the dialup by contract or anything, and it's unlimited access for a fixed fee, which is what I've been using for the last few months. It's slow, but at least it's something. So it'll be an extra week before the site is updated.
I hope there's something I can do... but it's not the fault of the landlords. The letting agent told us it was broadband ready, and we didn't get it in writing. She's not financially accountable to us (that's the landlords), so we wouldn't really achieve anything. Still, I plan on clarifying this with her: a lie is a lie, and it's so much worse when it's used to secure my hard-earned cash.

Show your feelings, show her your tough, really complain. Show here that you are made of bolts. tell her that your vein will pop out if she doesn't fix the problem
