It wasn't that my saves were deleted, but that my coins were reset every time I turned the game off, even after saving. And because they're so vital, unless I left the console on for a few days there's no way of getting around that. It's frustrating more than it's a bad game. There are fawlty bits that I can't believe made it through play testing. If they hadn't then it would probably be one of my favourites. I did have my saves deleted on Yoshi's Island though... all 100% of it. *sob*

I had my saves deleted once too, with Super Mario World... My friend was playing the game and in the main menu he thought: "Hey, I wonder what 'Reset' does!" Now I have to do everything all over again... Er, well, not 'again', all the saves were already on it when I got it

Wow, I can't believe you hate DKC2.
The Banana Coins are always easy to collect if you need two.

It really is that one little thing that irks me about the game, but it's such a damaging oversight that it completely ruined the entire experience for me.
Much the same thing happened with Starfox Adventures. I generally enjoyed playing it even though it wasn't excellent - I was willing to overlook its shortcomings in favour of its big and beautiful game world and puzzles... but when you get to the end and can never explore the game world ever again I decided I'd been far too lenient and it was a disgrace to the Starfox name. If the game allowed me to carry on exploring, admiring the game world, playing the Arwing challenges for hi-scores, and finding all the cheat tokens then I wouldn't have sealed it up in the box and tried to erase it from my memory forever.
A little play testing can go a long long way. Sometimes Rare get lucky... sometimes they get it drastically wrong... as is evidenced by their comittment to urinating on the original DKC games on GBA.

Hmmmm...this is hard. I know my five favorites, but can't decide the order... 5.Super Mario World 4.Super Metroid 3.The Legend of Zelda:A Link to the Past 2.Super Mario World 2:Yoshi's Island 1.Super Mario RPG:Legend of the Seven Stars That seems right. Although 3 and 4 are very close. A little play testing can go a long long way. Sometimes Rare get lucky... sometimes they get it drastically wrong... as is evidenced by their comittment to urinating on the original DKC games on GBA. What's wrong with the new GBA DKC? I haven't played it yet.

It's better than their Game Boy Color attempt, but the selling point was about the graphics, and they've been dumbed down for the GBA. The gameplay remains much the same, but has been punctured with differences that really stop it being quite as fluid as the original SNES version.
DKC2 seems to have been treated in much the same way...
