That is cool beyond words!! I love the artwork! Barcode Battle games were around at the beginning of the 90s. Looks like they continued in popularity in Japan for considerably longer than they did here.

Yeah, we got it over here. I thought it took off worldwide. Bandai was behind it, I believe.

I remember seeing something like this a few years back but I just thought they were a bunch of cool Zelda pictures...
Bandai are a fairly respected company when it comes to this type of product and games alike. But I had no idea about "Barcode Battler" in the early 90's.

I still don't believe it. I have yet to see if it was released here. I need concrete evidence. I don't really believe the Metroid II remake for GBC either.
EDIT: I meant the Nintendo peripherals. The actual machine? I don't know. Still don't believe it.

Well, I stand corrected. Apparently the Zelda version of barcode battler didnt make it over to the US or Europe, but its still cool none the less. Check out the pics of some of the cards and the set for the famicom. www.siliconera.com/news/0602/zelda_08l.jpgAlternatively you can go here and read the whole store about the anniversary of Zelda - 20 years just incase you havent seen it yet. www.siliconera.com/2006/02/21/happy-20th-birthday-link/Interesting content none the less I think you would agree?

Hello, I have been searching the internet for Barcode Battler enthusaists. There aren't many. I have loads of information on my website with regards the Legend of Zelda card set, though I have never heard of a SNES game which uses this set. I have found another set which uses the SNES/Barcode Battler connection, and you can get full information on my site here at barcodebattler.co.ukIf you navigate your way to the Japan section, you can find loads of information about the craze in Japan. There are many gaps in my knowledge though, so if anyone here can read Japanese, I beg for your help! Tony.

I have found some more Nintendo related Barcode Battler stuff on eBay (I won't specify where), and hopefully I'll have the money to get them by Monday.
The extra card sets are Mario and Dragon Slayer. I hope nobody else gets these before I do.

Good news everyone! I have detailed information about the Mario and Dragon Slayer BCB cards. I have forgotten a few of the English names for some of the Super Mario World characters & items - please can you check out barcodebattler.co.uk/mario.php to see which ones I don't know, and remind me here if you can remember who is who. I'll put some pictures up soon to help you all out - it will be difficult to correct me until then.
