I noticed on the Diamond and Pearl page, you don't have any cameos. What about the Nintendo Wii in the Main Characters room? I forgot what it says when you click on it, but I could check.

I don't cover a lot of system cameos. I've considered it... but it's a lot of work Proper cameos would be better.

That's true, I don't know how many N64 games mention the N64...it's a lot though...

What I don't have clear, Teev, is whether you tried it in D/P or only recently in Platinum; for those who haven't tried it in any version, you can generate your words:

What I don't have clear, Teev, is whether you tried it in D/P or only recently in Platinum I did it in Pearl because I just found out about it. That's what's so kickass about Diamond and Pearl, I bought it the day it came out and I'm still finding all these cool little secrets...

Also, why haven't anyone mentioned the Retro Pipe accessoary? Just notice it's name, and then look at it: Just notice how much it resembles the Warp Pipe from Super Mario!

Something in me wants to see another thing in that "Retro" name but it clearly is that kind of pipe besides the color and the more-common vertical orientation. After all, how retro is Mario when he continues to have games? Still, I don't dismiss it.
For another easter egg, have you all played in the Veilstone Game Corner a lot? Sometimes, the Clefairy will be a different-colored ("shiny") Clefairy, and sometimes it will be a Ditto Clefairy (a Clefairy with a Ditto face as seen in the anime and Pokémon Snap). These appear randomly. I'll try to get pictures of them.

After all, how retro is Mario when he continues to have games? The "retro" in it's name might refer to that it's two first games are classified to as retro games, Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros.. Many fans use to refer to the items, enemies etc. of those games as "retro" things of the series, I suppose too.

Hm... The Ditto Clefairy is clearly inspired from the anime. Would that count as a cross-media cameo (In both snap and DPP)? The same would go for Surfing Pikachu and Flying Pikachu, both of whom originate in cards.

They barely reference one another, you know? As the technology gets better, there's no reason not to cram extra content in there just for the fans.

@qu: It sure wouldn't count as an inter-game cameo. But I thought of it as an easter egg because of how you find it. @flip: Ditto Clefairy is more noticeable unless you have a keen eye for alternate coloration (Clefairy can be more pale in other media); I never noticed shiny Clefairy until I investigated about Ditto Clefairy. I don't have an emulator for this, so I used my webcam: According to message boards and FAQs: - Ditto Clefairy shortens the duration of the bonus mode.
- Shiny Clefairy lengthens the duration of the bonus mode
After you reach 10 rounds of the bonus mode and lose one on purpose, you earn a TM64 (Explosion) as hinted by the Game Corner's sign which says "Aim for an Explosion of Luck!".

Let me explain this better: Ditto only EVER had that quirk in the anime. It's where it originates. Since then, two games, one of which had other references to the anime, including it's main character, have had it. Ergo, I propose a new category of cameos: Intermedia cameos. These would only pertain to games with movies/shows/comics based on them.
Examples would be Ditto's eye quirk, Todd Snapp, and Castle Dedede's makeover in teh Kirby games.
Another cameo type I feel should be added is shown by Teev in this topic. with the wall paper. It is inter continuity, but it is specificly referencing a sprite (or tiles in this case) from a past game. It's not just bringing back a character or what have you.
A great example of this would be the Fisherman picture in Twilight Princess.
