GameTrailers has a bunch of new gameplay videos posted. It's looking as good as ever! IGN has also posted some new media and a hands-on that sounds quite enticing: The latest build continues to show that Team Ninja has struck gameplay gold with Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. The vertical book form works extremely well, and the development team's focus on touch-screen exclusive control gives the series a unique feel in a familiar setting. Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword also looks outstanding, pushing that Resident Evil-like 2D/3D hybrid engine – 3D characters over a prerendered, scrolling background – while mimicking the same style of action of the console games…and keeping a framerate incredibly high and a pace incredibly quick. A new area in this game showed off a challenge where you'll have to run through an area as giant boulders roll in your direction. Boss battles are rendered entirely in real-time 3D to give players the ability to move with a free-flowing camera.

IGN has a new video interview with Tomonobu Itagaki. In it, he mentions that Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword has been in development for two years -- quite a long time for a DS game. He also mentions that while Ninja Gaiden on the X-Box was initially inspired by the Zelda series, any similarities between Dragon Sword's stylus-driven interface and Phantom Hourglass's is coincidental. He also complements the DS's durability. Apparently, he tends to break development systems a lot, but he says not a single DS broke in the development of Dragon Sword.
