There was no thread for this game! I had to fix that. GameTrailers just put up a pretty good preview. It's looking stylish, as usual. IGN had kind of a "No More Heroes week" a little while back where they talked about some of the game features and posted a bunch of media. It included the intro movie, which was extremely violent and filled with explicit language. And maybe some of you caught the news article from a couple weeks ago about Suda 51 at a No More Heroes launch event in Japan. Apparently, it didn't go so well. It's flopping over there. I would have hopes that it'll do better in the US, but it's being released in the same month as Smash Bros. I generally don't like to sound pessimistic, but I think it's doomed.

It looks kinda nice, but I'm afraid I'm not into that kind of thing myself. Suda 51's games are just a bit too weird for me. But as I say, it does look good, and I hope it sells well

I heard it was delayed to May...maybe I'm wrong?
I am quite interested in this game, that I am.

Damn. That preview pretty much won me over. That game looks damn fun. I might even preorder it. I heard somewhere that the Japan/EU version will be bloodless though, pretty lame-o. It doesn't effect me since I'm importing US shit, but still

According to GameFAQs, it's still scheduled to be released in February in both the US and Europe.
And yeah, the European and Japanese versions of the game are censored. All the blood is black because, y'know, red is too violent a color.

IGN reports that No More Heroes' US release has been moved up to January 22. It's still a little too close to Smash Bros, IMO, but I suppose it doesn't make a big difference.

No More Heroes has been out for a couple of days now in the US, and so far it's getting a lot of 90+ scores, including a surprising perfect 5/5 from X-Play. Oddly enough, IGN, which has gone out of its way to hype the game, gave it a 7.8 -- the lowest score collected so far. Well, the critics love it. Since Smash Bros won't be released for more than a month, let's hope players notice it. A game like this doesn't get released on the Wii very often.

Wow...a 5 on XPlay? I have to check it out.

Strange, the X-Play video review gives it a four out of five at the start but at the end gives it a five out of five.
This looks like one heck of a game, I think I might get it. When is the PAL release of this game anyway?

^ According to GameFAQs, it'll be released in Europe and Australia at the end of February by Rising Star.
And that part at the beginning of the X-Play video isn't the rating for the game. It's just an animation they show at the start of every review. It is little confusing, tho.

Edge magazine gave this 9/10, which is pretty damn impressive from them (they don't dole out 10s willy-nilly). So this is definitely worthy of attention!

And yeah, the European and Japanese versions of the game are censored. All the blood is black because, y'know, red is too violent a color. How come, is it that the PAL versions of TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, Resident Evil 4 and Perfect Dark had red blood in them. I just don't understand why they are allowed to have red blood and yet this game gets censored.

It possibly depends on the age rating. If the publisher is aiming for a 15 or lower (larger audience), then they may have to cut out more in order to meet the PEGI's age ratings. ESRB isn't quite so strict about blood, but they're a lot more strict about sex and religion. This is all educated guesswork, of course

America isn't quite so strict about blood, but they're a lot more strict about sex and religion. Fix'd for accuracy. Haven't you seen the South Park movie?

Haha, I actually wrote America and Europe first time, but decided to be a little more specific
