Aren't critical damage 2x damage just like super effective damage?

Aren't critical damage 2x damage just like super effective damage? Yes, both are x2, with the same-type-attack-bonus as 1.5. So it's a actually x6 damage.

The nature and name of this Final Smash tells once again that the important thing they want to showcase with "Pokémon Trainer" is the Trainer themself and not the Pokémon.

Ahahaha, the text on the bottom of the screen made me roffle. That's a very nice touch if I do say so myself.
Arcadenik, I think you're buying too much into the anime again, especially because the anime didn't use "It's super effective" or "Critical hit" or anything like that. I think in this case it's just because the attack is so powerful that it can hurt anyone that comes across it.

I just noticed they don't have that Yellow glow, demon eyes thing going on that the others do. Maybe the trainer gets it and we just can't see it.

The anime does reference type matchups; they just are heavily clumsy about it.
The idea is too simple to want to find direct sources, and since anime doesn't need to be turn-based (neither does SSB), we are witnessing a coincidence, or at most a non-turn-based version of multiple-Pokémon battles or linked moves.

I just was reminded of the double or triple or even group attacks by Pokemon from the anime. That's how I saw this FS.

This update confirms it!
Those are Pokemon in the crowd. Not people. Look at that first image with Ivysaur and look closely at the blurry crowd... you can CLEARLY make out Pokemon, especially Jigglypuff.

All I see is small dots, there are some Jigglypuff shaped ones but they don't really look like much else. If there were Pokemon in the crowd would'nt you be able to see other Pokemon aside from Jigglypuff?

There are Pokémon other than Jigglypuff, they're just hard to see. I think I can make out Pikachu, Psyduck, Geodude, and a whole lot of Voltorb.

This starting to sound just like that "enemy faces in the clouds theory" from the Subspace Emissary update.

Unlike the cloud theory, I am having a hard time seeing Pokemon in the background.

Same here. All I can see are a random bunch of blurry shapes, much like as in Mario tennis 64.

Possibly, but since they're all alligned with the seats, I doubt it. Unless they're not helium balloons, but then what'd be the point?
