It does seem to be much larger than the Landmasters in Assault were. I'm sure it's at least twice the size, but I haven't played Assault in quite some time. My mind could be exaggerating. Nothing in Smash has ever been to scale, anyway. Just look at Kirby and Pikachu. If Olimar was playable, there's no way he'd be to scale, either.

Hah, just had a great inspiration: Pikmin vs Smurfs, the Inch High War! Anyone who wants to draw that, I will love them forever ;D

Pimin would totally win. You can make more of them. There is only leik, one girl smurf.

YESS! THIS IS AWESOME!
STARFOXGASM, HOOOOO!
This is great for a lot of reasons:
1// It's a Star Fox update, and I love Star Fox more than I love F-Zero (which says something)
2// The Landmaster looks fucking INCREDIBLE. They really put a lot of work into making its appearance noticable and great and and and. Plus, it's to scale...you gotta remember, it may be a futuristic sci-fi tank, but it's a tank nonetheless! Tanks are supposed to be big.
3// Slow, bulky, powerful and doesn't move very well--that's the exact opposite of Fox's normal play style. I can see some serious disadvantages to this, especially if its hover skill is anything like SF64 and SFAs. That's some serious strategy you have right there; you gotta pick and choose the right places to use it, and if you screw up, you're boned!
4// It has all the controls it's supposed to have in Star Fox games except shooting bombs! It's not dummied down at all, so it wins hardcore. (Bombs were always a limited feature depending on if you could get your hands on any, so I'm not disappointed that they aren't part of the Landmaster's attack range.)
5// If Fox has the Landmaster, that means there's a greater chance that Falco uses his Arwing, the Sky Claw ;D I know it doesn't increase his chances of staying playable, but I'll take it as good news!
Anyway, this is a sensible choice for a Final Smash, I think--given reason #3 above, especially, but also because Fox has average stats with Landmaster use in Assault while Falco has the worst of all six playable characters. (Yeah, I was the one who said that ages ago. For anyone who's curious, Slippy has the highest skill with the tank.) I always assumed, though, that Fox would get the Arwing just by default; Falco could instead have used the Orbital Bombardment weapon in Assault's multiplayer. But if the Arwing is up for grabs, then I believe Falco would be the one to get it.

It's not Kirby, but I guess I was somewhat right in that it would be a veteran's Final Smash. I wasn't exactly banking on Kirby anyway.

Tei, you're totally right. This final smash rules for all of those reasons. And the fact that it is to scale really freaks me out too... because Smash never made anything to scale.
Fox would never fit in the melee arwings.... and those arwings would never fit in the Melee Great Fox. Fourside makes the characters look like they're a couple stories tall.... and Peach's castle got shrunk big time.
Come to think of it.... doesn't everything in brawl so far seem to scale? (Except playable characters.)
