Ah. Okay. So if tilts are explicitly mentioned there, and again here (as 'strong attacks'), why are people saying they're out? Because people are crazy.

They did a good work with the limited button posibilites of the Wiimote, and I praise them for that, but that won't save it from being ankward for playing Smash. The main complain being the lack of a proper jump button. Nobody jumps with up. If you have to press both the pad and 2 at the same time for a Smash, you have to be careful when trying to do tilts. It happened to me all the time when playing SSB64 on Kaillera with a PSX pad. The shield is in a weird place. And people complained of the Z button in the GC pad... And finally, the pad is digital and can't match the analogic freedom of the sticks.
This raises more questions though, for example how to do a smash missile with Samus.

I do. Couldn't even tell you what the jump button is on the Cube controller. X? Y? Those buttons are shit-tacular, anyway.

I said that because now you'll jump when you try to do a utilt o a usmash or viceversa since the pad doesn't has the different levels of sensibility the stick has. Even beginners go for the jump button when they start noticing this.

Ah. Okay. So if tilts are explicitly mentioned there, and again here (as 'strong attacks'), why are people saying they're out? Because people are crazy. Actually, because it's now impossible to do an up tilt attack with the Wii remote. If you press the up button and 2 at the same time, you do a smash attack. If you press up first, you jump before you can attack. Which means that people with the Wii Remote don't get their full repertoire of moves. So I thought either Wii remote controls were actually gimped somewhat, or Sakurai deleted tilt attacks altogether so that they wouldn't be gimped. I had forgotten that tilt attacks were covered in a previous update, though, so I guess that just means that the Wii remote is a terrible choice for competitive players.

You know he's probably thought of this. Wait till you have iot in your hand before you say you can't do something.

I expect that I'll be plugging in my GC controller ASAP when I start up Brawl. It'll carry over my memories nicely.

Up will work for jumping on a D-pad. I always have trouble jumping with UP on an arcade stick or analog stick.
