This music is amazing. Waluigi Pinball was my favorite song (and level) in MKDS.

There's only 3 Kid Icarus songs, and one is a medley of NES tunes. That's lame...
But the sheer magnitude of other crap is amazing. There's EIGHT Sonic tunes O.O

The representation is horribly imbalanced this time. That's all I can tell.

It's not like Kid Icarus has a lot of material to work with anyway. Unless you wanna hear 8 remixes of the 5 or so tunes the game has (though arrangements of the Gameboy sequel would've been nice, but that never got released in Japan, did it?)

Surprisingly, no it didn't. And I agree, Kid Icarus doesn't have a great deal of stuff to work with. Other franchises are getting a great deal of music. Look at Sonic or MGS. Those two alone have like 8 songs each. I can't think of a major franchise lacking in music. Its the smaller ones like Kid Icarus that get the shaft there.

a Pokemon battle (Pokemon) I think it's actually the Pokemon E4 theme from RB/SP It's from a place, but I can't think where right now. Possibly the Aqua/Magma bases? It's definately not battle music, anyway.

It's actually the RSE Victory Road...as in, the music that plays before facing the E4.
Odd choice, but the remix does sound epic.

Thanks for the links 8bitretroboney. That music is amazing! Porky's Theme is still my favorite track out of them so far. And Gourmet Race is amazing! Metal Kirby songs... Wow.

Christ, Snuka, GameFAQs members are perpetually embittered or hopelessly dedicated. The game's gonna be fine whether some goober submitting a five-paragraph review or a Wall-O-Text says otherwise. XD
Also, any word on how many F-Zero songs are gonna be in the game? I heard some unaltered F-Zero X tunage playing during SSE, and I know there's a Mute City remix going around, but that's all I've heard.

Fire Field is in, as is White Zone. I think both are unlockable however. The Dojo page on starting music was updated with Port Town Aero Dive music for some reason. So check that out to give you an idea. On that note, any word of any Wrecking Crew music besides the NES Medley, or Checker Knights from Kirby Air Ride? Or any other KAR music besides Frozen Hillside for that matter. I'd check out this page too. youtube.com/profile_videos?p=r&user=Mariocenter&page=1The guy has a lot of Brawl music up, including stuff I've only seen in videos up till this point.

I have the full soundtrack, but some of the Air Ride and F-Zero stuff I can't ID.
What I can ID, though, is that there are two Nazo no Murasamejou and two Tetris tracks in-game. There's also a Gyromite remix alongside that Famicom Medley (which has Joy Mecha Fight in the medley too). I personally also like the two soundscape tracks: Electroplankton has watery sounds and Pikmin has forest sounds.
Amidst the DS music we get a remix of the Wii Menu, Wii Shop, Mii Channel, and a lot of other stuff. Wii Sports, Brain Age, etc. What's weird is that amidst the Smash music, rather than generic Nintendo, we get a few unrepresented game tracks including a battle theme from Golden Sun (which sounds very cool). That said, no Punch-Out, Star Tropics, Stafy, or Tomato tracks on their own. Sorry :/ Pasaran's a trophy, though.
That said, Kid Icarus gets four tracks: Underworld Remix, Title Theme Remix, Overworld Remix, NES Chip Medley. It's not bad that we got 3 remixes total, but I would have liked to hear GB music or the Sky Palace remixed.
Sonic gets 12 tracks, only one of which is a remix. The Genesis tunes, save Angel Island, are left as is (Green Hill, Emerald Hill, Scrap Brain). The rest of the tracks are vocals like Sonic Boom, Live and Learn, and Sonic Racing from Sonic R (!!!)
MGS also gets 12, most of which ARE remixed.
Mario gets the most, somewhere around 17. Animal Crossing and Zelda get a ton as well. The Metroid tracks include vocals in some of them--just a voiceover saying stuff like "Red Alert! Samus Aran must fight the vile Metroids on the Planet Zebes!"
DK gets a surprising amount of music. Kirby gets a slew. Pokemon gets a slew, but really weird choices as well (no Cynthia Battle?). Wario is all WarioWare and no Wario Land. Pikmin is a lot of vocal tracks from Japan. The Famicom stuff kicks ass. The Smash Bros. original stuff is fantastic. Fire Emblem and Mother get a nice breadth of tracks as well. And the Game and Watch Flat Zone music is really weird: it's a light guitar with G&W sounds over it. Star Fox gets a lot of remixes as well, because that was the series I neglected mentioning.
Anyways, victory tunes are all unique to the franchise again. As in, they no longer all sound like they're being played in the same style like Melee. For instance, Kirby is lighthearted while F-Zero is extreme and Mario is very epic. Meta Knight is the only one to get his own rendition of a victory tune, and Sonic's is ripped right from Sonic 360. Wario's is really weird and doesn't sound like anything Wario Ware OR Land. ROB's is a cool Gyromite remix, Pit's is a mix of the main theme from Kid Icarus, and Snake's is the Game Over theme from MGS. Zelda and G&W had their tunes changed: Zelda's is now when you find a piece of Triforce in the original LoZ, G&W's is a bit more chiptuney.

Yeah, it gets me that only 1 of the tracks for Sonic is a remix. BUT, on the other hand, most of them are vocals anyway. Still, would have been nice to hear a new Green Hill or Scrap Brain.
