The Wii console includes a function called Wii Friends, but you will register a separate list of Smash friends. That’s your Friend Code in the top-right.Please exchange these numbers with your friends. Write a note, do it over the phone, or send it by e-mail – just share your numbers with each other. Then input your friend’s Friend Code.Once you’ve both input your codes, it’ll look something like this.Oh! It comes with comments. This is where you enter your short taunt messages. The preparation ends there. After this, you won’t have to do it every time.
So, let’s play a game! In that case, someone has to enter someone else’s game. The person who will host creates a room.Everyone can see the status of people on their Friend Roster. You can see if they’re online or hosting a match. If you want to play together, just select that person’s name and choose OK!Join someone who is hosting a match.Once all participants select OK......you can play.Yep. Simple.
Simple is best.
By the way, the circle at the top-right of your Friend Roster approximates the connection quality of your last connection. The closer it is to blue, the smoother you’ll be able to play.

Another crappy theory shattered into dust.
Atleast now I know how Brawl online multi works.

"Real men play with items!"
Wow. A blatent kick to the nuts of the tourneyfags! This update was worth WAY more than a character!

This is exactly how I assumed it would be. I didn't think this required an update. Ah well.

So Brawl has a friends list and apparently a lobby... it still has to use friends codes, which sucks, but... Dang it this is a crappy update for the original release date of Brawl.

It's not a bad update, but I thought something much different was going to get shown today like everybody else thought.

And so Novembore becomes Decembore, and not even the brilliant "Real Men Use Items" line can save us from the disappointment.
Ah well. Maybe tomorrow.

Aw come on! I love it.
Tourney... ahem... cigarettes... are the bane of Smash Brothers Melee. Stuck up, self-important, snobby, whiney, desperate little losers. Always talkin bout Shuffles... wave____ing... shine screwing... or whatever....
They're annoying. I like to play the game seriously... but that whole scene is disgusting. Fox vs Fox on Final Destination. Over and over.... yeah, fun stuff...
Anyway... we all know Melee was an incredibly fun game with tons of features. Also... it's broken as hell. That leads people to argue about how the game was MEANT to be played.... the tourney way (No items, no stages, 1 on 1....) or the "not tourney" way. (Items, levels, more players... other fun stuff.)
You've all met them. The guys that think they're pros... but really.... nobody gives a shit about them so they whine and complain and brag about their ePenis. Well... they're the worst thing that happened to Smash brothers.
If you ask me, I think Sakurai is intentionally pissing them off. Final smashes? Items? Assist Trophies? Lack of tournament stages? Wavedashing is gone? Fox isn't as good? WHA?!
Ah... I love it. This update's little easter egg is seriously rubbing their noses in it. Like adding salt to the wound. If you designed Melee, and met JUST ONE of those guys... you'd have done the same.... for humanity's sake!

You do realise it was treehouse (specifically Nate by the looks of it) that wrote this, not Sakurai, right? And what lack of tournament stages? If anything so far I would say we lack non-tourney stages.

I guarantee you that Norfair won't be used in tournaments.

I guarantee you that Norfair won't be used in tournaments. Also Rumble Falls, Pictochat, WarioWare, New Pork City, and of course, Temple. I can also see Castle Siege, The Summit, and Delfino Plaza being made illegal since they change so radically and so frequently. So that's potentially about half of the revealed stages so far being non-tourney stages.

Both Castle Siege and The Summit change in a set pattern and so I wouldn't think it would be that much of a problem.
