Be warned: I'm not avoiding spoilers in this post. I guess it's kind of interesting to see what's so different between Melee and Brawl, so... well, here I'm listing some differences between them. See if I am missing any. And I'm not listing differenes that are already said in an official manner! - Directional air dodging is REMOVED IN BRAWL. Because of this, you can't cancel out the stunning caused after hitting on ground hardly, which used to be in the two previous Smash Bros. What shame. To compensate, air dodging now won't "paralyze" you (in the way, like, you can't move after Up-B) and you can dodge as many times as you want repeatedly in one jump. - Characters' ability changed [in Brawl, we have a weakened Peach, a strenghtened Kirby (but not as strong as in the 64 version), a stronger Luigi, a weakened Link and blah blah bah], and the roster as changed (I'll miss you, Roy... Well, actually, I don't use him much.) - No language option in Brawl. We used to have that in Melee and the game's content looks like doubled with that option! That and a smaller Home Run stadium in the English version. - Different looking stages. I don't know if it's just me, but from the official screenshots the Temple stage looks more blurry in Brawl. - Different trophy decription format. Look at the place depicting what the trophy comes from. - Hiragana pronounciation is shown for Kanji in Brawl, but not Melee. - Changed 1P mode: for All-Stars, In Melee who you fight are grouped by random, in Brawl, by series. For Classic, the game gets a lot longer in the first place, then there are the 1vs1 giant battles, 1vs3 battles and so on in Brawl. - In Brawl, there are stages with corresponding characters being unlockable. We have an F-Zero stage before seeing Falcon. Strange, I'd say. - The unlocking sequence is so different. Most people see either Marth, Falcon, Luigi or Ness first, with Jigglypuff being thrown so far away. ...These are what I know right now. Anything I missed? You must be very observant to see this one. I know this is the most boring joke on earth, but I can't resist on this. One difference is the number of Trouble Kings had doubled.

Is Link really weakened in Brawl? I thought he was already pretty weak in Melee...

Are you telling me you can't do the recovery trick where you press shield exactly as you hit the ground to do a somersault or whatever?

No, you CAN indeed do that. I've seen it a few times.

Show me. I'm interested.
The info I have might be inaccurate, as I don't have a reliable source either.
EDIT: Today's update is NOT a counterproof. It has you being hit "by an opponent" and be able to canel out the pause; what Italked about are moves having the player hits the ground, like... Link's midair down A, for example.
EDIT OF EDIT: I guess my explanation in the first post wasn't accurate... I apologize for my inability to explain stuff clearly.

with Jigglypuff being thrown so far away. He'd better have a good moveset/final smash for this to be justified. It'd suck real bad if I had to go through a lot of effort to unlock him/her, only to find that (s)he plays exactly the same as in Melee.

What do you mean? Jiggly's one of the best characters in Melee! I wouldn't want to change her for the world! ;D

I don't have any good source, but reportedly she's pretty much unchanged. Actually it's worse... Jiggly's down B doesn't sent enemy as far as it once did in melee.

Ehh, isn't it a bit too early to be getting into comparing the two?
