Using Yoshi’s special moves obviously calls for becoming an expert at throwing eggs. <Up Special Move: Egg Throw> This is what happens if you just do a normal throw. If you hold the button down, both speed and distance
If you tilt the Control Stick forward when you throw, the angle of the throw will be more horizontal. If you tilt the Control Stick backward when you throw, the angle of the throw will be more vertical. The length you hold the button and the direction you move the stick make all sorts of combinations. If you can master them all, your range of attack will be really huge! Thiiiiis huge! <Standard Special Move: Egg Lay> This move captures your opponent in an egg. Yoshi is pretty scary when he uses his tongue attack. Schlurrrp! Pop! And off into the abyss... If you get trapped in an egg, you can move left and right to try to avoid falling off edges. Also, you can break out of the egg by tilting the Control Stick back and forth.
However, if you’ve taken a lot of damage, it will be harder to break free. So if you’re taking a beating, you’ve got to be careful of surprise attacks!

I'm surprised Sakurai didn't talk about how Yoshi's Up B gives him a slight vertical boost. Thats the only new thing about his moveset, I think. It was mentioned in the first Yoshi update. And I guess we're getting updates about veterans movesets now... How blah.

Yoshi's egg throw never had this much versitility, did it? If it did, I never knew about it.

Yoshi's egg throw never had this much versitility, did it? If it did, I never knew about it. You could always angle it, even in SSB (it was pretty much required to beat his Break The Targets stage). However, I don't think you could get quite this range. Hopefully it's easier to do as well.

This was a long overdue update I think, glad it was in a double update. The range of the egg throw is definitely better, and by the looks of it, easier to control. I used to play as Yoshi quite frequently when a few years back and it was a nightmare positioning an effective shot. And I guess we're getting updates about veterans movesets now... How blah. True but how many other games in development are getting daily updates by the creator himself! ;D

Did they always have "the most damage, the harder it is to break free" ? If not, that's awesome! If so, I need to play as Yoshi more Anyways, I love how Zelda's waving goodbye in the last screen.

Neko Neko Panic and I discovered that Jigglypuff's Sing move lasts longer the higher damage your opponent has in Melee, since we've been spamming Super Sudden Deaths to unlock Mewtwo and restore our lost save files - so it's likely that it's been around for a while and we just never really noticed.

I'm very happy Sakurai updates a site like this. This just strikes me as unnecessary, especially because, as far as I know nothing has changed. And hey, this was a double update.

I wonder if Yoshi still has that aerial downwards attack with the kicking feet? Someone racked up about 50% to me in one hit with that once.

Ahh, Didn't relize you and Neko were RL friends. Pretty cool. Also, Kohta, he still does. I've seen it used before.

As Smashchu said, Yoshi still has the Peddle Kick. And it looks like it still does a decent chunk of damage, too. youtube.com/watch?v=byBGYqdq0UESome of these Home Run Derbys are insane. Waay better than Melee's.

Yoshi and Ganondorf. The homerun masters in Melee. No wonder they're striking it so far away!
