I don't know if this has been mentioned before or if any of you have seen these videos but its kinda interesting even if Brawl is out in a couple of days. These vids show a soundtest of some of the english voices of the characters in Brawl. Well, I'm pretty sure the name Lombardi (or whatever his last name is) is italian.
Lucario freaks me out for some reason.

It's because they used his voice actor from Star Fox Assault, who gave Falco a New York accent. While this subject came up in another topic, hearing the voices makes me feel like most of 'em are okay; the only one I really don't like is Pokemon Trainer's, and just because he sounds like Ash Ketchum, which is a creation to be loathed and despised. ^^ But I can at least tolerate the other voices and I especially love Falco's.

The voices are quite good. I love Snake, but I expect no less from Mr Hayter. Fox always has a different voice every game he appears in, but it is still good. I also like Metaknights deep gruff voice, makes him sound more evil.
Not a fan of Pit and Ike. I guess I got used to the japanese voices...I've been on youtube too much.

I've hardly heard any of them. XD I don't plan to until the game's in my hands, either. That way, maybe I won't be too bummed about what I hear compared to the Japanese version...

I think Ike's voice is the worst, but PKMN Trainer's would be better if they didn't just copy/paste all the phrases. It makes him sound robotic/artificial.

Pokemon Trainer got very annoying very quickly. I know we won't hear his phrases in such succession during the game but I never did like Ash Ketchum back in the old days. And I agree with you Man-Frog about Ike's voice - isn't he supposed to be a teenager? His "I fight for my friends" line is just awful...

I actually like Ike's. He sounds like an experienced veteran swordsman, differentiating him from sassy prince Marth. They sound too much alike in Japanese, next to looking about the same..
Also Pit sounds better as a teenager since he... well, pretty much is one. Or looks like one anyway. The Japanese voice makes him sound like a friggen 8 year old.
Fox's LANDMASTERRR yell is hilariously bad. I'm pretty happy with the voice acting in general (kinda miss high-pitch Ivysaur though).

The Japanese voice makes him sound like a friggen 8 year old. As far as I can tell (from Japanese videos and such) everyone in Japan sounds like an 8 year old. I still don't know what's up with Ashley's song. |

Again, Ike's lines are nearly the same as the Japanese lines, so in English it's moreso corny. I don't think so since I respect that, imagine Marth yelling THERE IT IS when he counters. Oy.
Meta is prolly meant to sound deep due to the mask for our version, Pit's eh but I still love the char, Red was ruined as that's nothing like I imagine the manga/game char, moreso Ash, Ike's fine, the Star Fox characters I think are fine, Snake and Lucario are fine, I hate new age Sonic voices so I wish we had a Japan option or Ryan Drummond.

Meta is prolly meant to sound deep due to the mask for our version Wasn't Metaknight deep in the japanese version? I think his voice is deep to make him sound sexy and badass. ;D Wooo. Come back when you can put up a fight! Also, I think the english version of Ashleys song is quite good! |
