The Wikipedia pages for Creatures and Ape are atrocious! I had to translate the Japanese Creatures page to get any information  Anyway... Ape Inc. was an unusual development house made up of designers, writers and artists, set up by Shigesato Itoi. I know for a fact that they did a lot of work on Japanese strategy guides, as well as developing Mother. But yes, Nintendo began investment in the company in 1989, and the company turned into Creatures Inc. in 1995, just in time for Pokemon. And I didn't know Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka was president of Creatures AND the composer of the Pokemon animated series' Japanese theme music (as well as other songs)!! Man, crazy. |

man, I really hope SSB4 (if it happens!) has a better selection of non-original bosses, because the small handful that made it into Brawl are really really great. :< the Porky and Ridley fights were some of the biggest highlights of the SSE.
and there are so many to choose from! like some other people have said, Kracko would've been really nice (especially since SSE is practically Kirby Super Star 2, more or less).
it would've been awesome if Ganondorf had Twinrova around to do his dirty work. Twinrova needs (need?) more love!

I have to say, the Meta Ridley fight is probably my favorite from the whole lot because it's so tense; as Sakurai stated, story mode only gives you a two minute time limit to beat him with, and while you can kill him with time to spare, it's a combination of the fact that you have a deadline in addition to his theme music (which is awesome) and the attacks he performs - doing things that should by all means wreck the Falcon Flyer, like dive-bombing on its engines, or sheering the top of the hull with his claws, or firing energy blasts at the hull.
That, and Ridley is fucking metal.

Ah yes, but Captain Falcon knows how to engineer a mothership that can withstand Meta-Ridley's attacks. I hear it's modelled from pure Punchonium!  I know it's not exactly the game's strongest moment (the SSE), but I can't wait to play through it nonetheless. Even though I watched the whole thing on YouTube |

That made me think that it would have ruled if when you defeat Meta Ridley if instead of him just, you know, being defeated if there was a cutscene where Capt. Falcon ejects from the Falcon Flyer and does one last FALCON PAWNCH! to Meta Ridley's face and then poses and gets back into the ship in time to pilot it away. |
