So I tried my first Brawl match online doing "with anyone" ('cause you guys won't add me ) and the lag was terrible. I couldn't play at all. Took me forever to find people too, probably because no one wants to brawl online. Anyone else have this problem?

Cheer up Teev, I got you added. All members I added have been on 'waiting for registration' for about 2 weeks now, except Nester somehow. Friendcodes just blow ass. As for Brawl with anyone, yeah it takes awhile for people to pop up, but usually there's some people playin' a game that very moment. Just wait 2 minutes and you'll end up joining for the next round. Also if there's only 1 guy, play a game or two and more will join in no time. No huge lag here though, in fact the game plays very smooth while my internet isn't very great and I'm living all the way in yurop. Though I always have a input delay of about a second so it's hard to aim Kinda got used to it now.

When I can connect, it lags like hell.
When I can connect. 99% of the time it won't even let me go online to receive the stage/picture/replay of the day.
I think Nintendo has made a few crucial mistakes with Brawl's online play; first, they shouldn't have let such a massive game be their first real foray into internet connectivity. Pokémon is nice and all, but compared in scope to Brawl, it's very compact and tiny. Second, friend codes are an absolute disaster; I appreciate that Nintendo's trying to keep things family-friendly, but in doing so they're also making the whole schpeil unnecessarily hard. Lastly, they should have anticipated such high volumes of traffic and accomodated for it - as Will Smith says in Men in Black, "'cause, dayumn."

I don't really get the whole lag thing with the internet connectivity. I mean some people have real trouble playing with friends who are closeby and some can have no-lag matches from a distance. Don't know if this has been posted but in this video it shows a supposed match against America vs Japan with hardly any lag.

Poll sucks. Not all the poll options should be bad (even if the general opinion is such).
That's becuase I have yet to add you. Sorry, I'm being lazy.

Ahem, even Xbox Live couldn't accomedate all the traffic it got from the Christmas Season... At the very least, Nintendo does not charge for the service themselves.

Poll rocks. Not all the Brawl connections should be bad (even if the general fact is such). fix'd for truth, you sly dog.

Y'know, I only had any real problems with lag the first week. Ever since then, most of my "With Anyone" matches have been very good with only a few slight hiccups.
The bigger problem is connecting in the first place. If I don't join a game after the first five minutes of waiting, I usually give up. It's not as bad for basic brawls because you only need to find one other human opponent, but I like playing team matches where you absolutely have to have four human players. It's a little harder to fill that up.
As for friends matches, I've added everyone who posted in the Brawl Friendcodes thread, but you guys are never playing online at the same time as I am. I've only played with Johans Nidorino once, and the lag was terrible.
Too bad. I'd like to do some Multi-Man Brawls with you guys.

My Nintendo Wii, its connection is quite worse than my Nintendo DS, my desktop and my laptop. It's fast at receiving information for the Forecast Channel, the Everybody Votes Channel and the News Channel. It works okay when updating. The worst parts of it connecting are both, downloading new Channels and games, and playing online multiplayer in SSBB. I recorded my first online match. It was so sluggish, it became more difficult. I'll have to look forward to installing this Windsurfer reflector onto my router.
