Well, K. Rool, Issac, and a copuple of others really deserved spots. But back to topic of when you guys were saying Mewtwo would have been better that Lucario, well I really like Mewtwo as he was a pretty main character in the Pokemon universe, but I also like Lucario. They are actually quite different I think. Like Mewtwo was more light weighted as Lucario actually touches the ground. But yeah, I don't/didn't use either of them much.

I agree that all those characters should have been in and I would like to highlight that lucario should have been cut in order to make room for mewtwo.

Anyway, I really think Mewtwo could have been improved in Brawl but Sakurai chose to replace him with Lucario.
Maybe replace Mewtwo's down special with Lucario's down special (he knows Double Team, too, right?), and give Mewtwo's up special a longer range like Zelda's up special. And make him more stronger (he's supposed to be the powerful Pokemon ever) but not overpowered in a SSB game.

Or if possible they could have had Mewtwo and Lucario in brawl ,but the moves may need to be changed.

Shadow Ball + Mewtwo is stuff from movies that were made before Melee, and Teleport is no longer a move Mewtwo can learn at all. However, it might work better if those moves remain just because they were already in the series (it has been done with veterans in Brawl). And there's no need to accentuate that similarity with Lucario.
Arcadenik, several boxart Pokémon are as powerful as Mewtwo overall, and Attack Form Deoxys is more powerful than Mewtwo attacking-wise. Though he does need to be powerful in SSB.

Ok then, but he would need a role in Subspace Emmisary so that will change the game.

Mewtwo's problem was he was a defensive character in an offensive game. The top tier characters were offensive like Fox, Sheik and Marth. Even outside of that, characters like Roy and Link were very popular thanks to their offensive nature. Brawl balances it very well and the characters can be more defensive (Snake, Olimar and Lucas are based heavily on htis, although less for the latter). |
