Still looked better than blue... yours looks like a raindrop.
When you say it's a reference to Big Boo, I'm assuming you actually mean Big Blue Boo, the secret boss from Mario World? Because regular Big Boos are the same colour as regular Boos... but even Big Blue Boo was only tinted blue, not actually completely blue. He's a whitish shade of blue.
Having a ghost as dark a shade as you have King Boo there stops him looking like a ghost at all. He just looks... like a water monster.

Hmm... I have Mario Party 4, but I don't remember that. Haven't played in years, though.
I'm not sure what you mean by "over-the-top", but I think you're being oversensitive. One thing I've noticed about you, not just from talking to you, but reading your responses to other peoples' critiques of your work, is that you don't take criticism well. You tend to either ignore it and pretend it never happened, or try to justify the problem without actually dealing with it.
You don't always do it, I have seen you take peoples' suggestions a bunch of times, like in your game ideas thread. I'm not trying to attack your ideas, I'm just throwing in ideas that I think would improve your work. You've improved a lot since you started doing this, but even the greatest artists have room for improvement, and everyone benefits from creative input from other artists. That's why video games have such large design teams!

Nice pics. I gotta ask whether you have any plans to do punch-out characters and whether you'll do the classics or their more modern appearances (eg Super Macho Man with gold tooth, tan, gray pony-tail or the original NES sprite (not from ringside pic) where he has black long hair with paler skin.)?

Hmmmmmmm. I understand this completely now. When it's something that I pretty much know of where I've gone wrong, it's not too bad and I take anything else into account. But when it's something of a far more trivial nature (such as many of the things that people here debate about a lot), things just get way too complicated from there (I even had to give up on my ideal Smash Bros., because it's....you know, too much to get through). The whole game ideas thing was just a way of showing off what it is I can come up with for future games. I didn't mind if anyone read them or not, just as long as I put them up, and that was plenty.
You haven't seen my previous collection I did of these. And you're better off not seeing anything older of it. Even now, these aren't really the greatest, I'll admit, but still a whole lot better than before.
Regiwi, I'm not entirely familiar with Punch-Out myself, sorry about that. But you know, you can think of this as some sort of "dream trophy collection" for another Smash Bros. game.

I used to not be so interested in them, and (believe it or not) I actually liked Bowser Jr. more. BUT, thanks to New SMB Wii, my interest in them is slowly being rejuvenated. Just gotta wait for those artworks of them and they're all set.
Nester the Lark: Hello, NinDB world! Post your shouts here! (But be careful not to wake the neighbors. )

nocturnal YL: Guys, guys! I can't believe what I found in Zelda 1! The game features an Elimination Mode that for some reason not many talked about! I wonder if it's fun? (Don't actually try it.)

nocturnal YL: Hey, I can edit shoutbox posts! This is already better than Twitter!

Nester the Lark: It seems like Cadence of Hyrule should be more popular than it is. Are people put off by the rhythm aspect? Or the randomly-generated maps?
Jul 24, 2020 14:01:59 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: ↑ Might warrant its own thread, but I think mixing rhythm and other genres usually resuls in gameplay too difficult for many. I can't handle it well either, judging from my scores in Dedede's Drum Dash.
Jul 24, 2020 22:46:56 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: ↑ For me personally, it simply hasn't been considered. It's a download-only game (until now) from a series I'm unfamiliar with and didn't feel like trying out.
Jul 24, 2020 23:02:40 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Ironically, I did create a thread for Cadence of Hyrule, but then deleted it thinking there wouldn't be any discussion on it. Maybe I'll go ahead and make a new one.

Shrikeswind: Something to bear in mind about the shoutbox if you’re not already aware: It doesn’t show up on the mobile version of the forums. This shouldn’t be a major problem, but it can make it difficult to get into discussions for mobile visitors.
Jul 26, 2020 1:40:18 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: Also the more obvious character limit issues, and the format not really being conducive to longer-term discussion. It’s useful but limited; threads definitely still have their place.

Shrikeswind: (Honestly, Proboards mobile is pretty bad in general, but...)

Nester the Lark: Not sure if this works on all devices, but you can force the desktop version of the forum by scrolling all the way to the bottom and clicking the "Desktop" link at the lower right.

Shrikeswind: I’m aware. I’m typing this from my phone. I’m just pointing out that, for people who aren’t aware or who may be casually checking in on their phone, the shoutbox won’t be visible on

Shrikeswind: Is there a Discord for NinDB, by the way? It’s very popular with them there young’ns these days, so it might help activity.
Jul 26, 2020 22:07:47 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: There is no NinDB Discord. There was a brief discussion of it a few years ago, but nothing ultimately came of it. I rarely use Discord, myself.
Jul 27, 2020 8:58:28 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: Hm. Seems like it might be a good idea if activity picks up. Not to be a pessimist but I do have my doubts that'll happen though.

Shrikeswind: Okay not a Nintendo topic but I kinda need to talk about this because I just learned it and it's a thing so bleh.

Shrikeswind: You remember Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, right? So apparently, 5 year old me was incapable of discerning male and female in non-humans, because *apparently* there's a female gargoyle, and the goat's a boy.
