The talk about Nintendo DS's Tingle RPG scares me. First off, it's the first REAL Zelda spinoff. Ugly. (Zelda was only left thin scar by CD-i) Second, Tingle scared me in Majora's Mask.
Imagine Knuckle and Ankle in Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Tingle wearing pink or baby blue.
That's why Tingle and his retarded brethren were cut from Twilight Princess.
Thirdly, Tingle isn't really popular in the United States or Europe. If it is released, then it won't be released outside of Japan.
And fourthly, who IS Fawful?

Correction: Tingle was REPORTEDLY cut from Twilight Princess... by IGN, who hate him anyway. Evidence has been mounting that Tingle will in fact be in Twilight Princess after all.
Secondly, who says Tingle isn't popular? I'd say he has more fans than most videogame characters. Sure he has more vocal opponents as well, but that's only because some people don't GET Tingle.
Fawful is Cackletta's insane, grinning sidekick from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. He speaks in an odd way, endearing himself to the kind of people who finds Tingle and the Mr. Saturn race hilarious!
If you don't like Tingle, there's no cookies for you at MY house! ;D

There's cookies now? ;D
Seriously though. In "Majora's Mask" I HATED Tingle - I found him quite creepy and he looked quite unpleasant. Actually quite disturbing.
However, they cartoon-ised him in "Wind Waker" and kept that look in the "Four Swords" games. He didn't look all that bad - although he remained annoying and confusing as ever.
That said - I don't mind the idea of Tingle getting his own game. Other than Link, Zelda and Ganon, Tingle is one of the most recogniseable characters from the series. We might learn something about the character.
To me, the negative response to Tingle getting his own game seems to be coming from people who don't want the "Zelda" series to change. I, however, think that this might just be a good thing.
Think about it. I wouldn't have thought that giving Wario a series of games would work, but it did. The Wario games are "ugly" looking (I refer to the less "cute" art styles and the bizarre "Wario Ware" graphics), but it still all works out.
If the Tingle game is "ugly" then it's no different to what I just said. As long as the game remains affiliated with the "Zelda" series, then I don't see why it shouldn't do fine as a game. I hope it is released outside of Japan, as I'm ready for a new "Zelda"-type adventure, and this might be it until the big next actual "Zelda" game hits the DS.
And that's what I think. ;D

I don't doubt that Nintendo is working on a proper Zelda game for the DS as well. I wouldn't want this to replace proper Zelda games any more than I want Wario Land to replace proper Mario games... even though I LOVE Wario Land.
But I really reckon this will come out worldwide. Those Tingle haters, if they really hate him, don't have to buy it. I love Tingle and this will no doubt become one of my most looked-forward-to DS games.

The fact its a Zelda game will mean its released worldwide.
Besides, Katamari is coming out worldwide, which gives any game a chance, I'd say.

But it means all the Zelda sites adding this to the near-perfect game list, it's a flaw! *sob*

I actually thought Tingle was a pretty funny guy. I think the fact that it's an RPG, makes this game better than what people would originally think.

But it means all the Zelda sites adding this to the near-perfect game list, it's a flaw! *sob* Dude, everyone's automatically jumping to the conclusion that because Tingle is the hero the game will automatically be a load of rubbish. The fact that it's a Nintendo game, it's an RPG, it seems to involve some kind of bomb thing (which will no doubt incorporate many puzzle elements) means that this game is ALREADY a better spinoff than most Nintendo franchises are accustomed to.

There's a surgery game and a lawyer game on the DS. A game starring Tingle isn't going to push any sort of envelope on the DS.

Don't forget the peculiar appearance of maths and english teaching games and a puppy-teaching simulator... all selling peculiarly well.
PECULIAR!!
But Tingle always pushed MY envelope!! ;D
