I just tried some DS emulators...
NO$GBA now supports Ds emulation, yet it couldn't load the Chrono Trigger cart. IDeaS loaded it but the sound was HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE!

I've had some success with IDeaS, but the sound is horrible in everything, and a couple of games don't render properly (for some reason, Professor Kawashima poses a particular issue for it).
You can download extra plugins for it, but I haven't tried them yet.
But at least I can start getting DS screenies!

I've been making some headway into getting cameo screenshots. I've got loads from Tetris DS and Kirby Super Star Ultra now. I've been using no$gba, as iDeaS adds a watermark to the screenshots, which is really annoying!
no$gba is significantly more stable than iDeaS, but it lacks most of the basic functionality I have come to expect from an emulator (the controller compatibility is terrible, the inability to pause the emulation during play is annoying and the lack of savestates is shameful). Can these be rectified with plugins? The Readme was equally unhelpful on this front (In summary it says "dirty thieving pirates, you'll get no help from us, unless you purchase the development version!")
Reminds me of the no$gb emulator from the late 90's. Great emulation, terrible interface.

No pauses? What kind of emulator is that?

I know! It's a bit mental! I need to find out what save system it does use, because at the moment it doesn't seem that the available save formats for DS games (available, for example, from GameFAQs) are compatible with either emulator. And I just wanna get the cameo screenshots... not play all the way through the games In other news: I got a screenshot of new "Grumpy Kirby" ;D

I started emulating back in high school because my family was never able to own any systems of our own. I still do it occasionally, but I stick to the moral rule that it's only for games that are long out of production and aren't easily obtained used.
