I wouldn't be able to make it. I work pretty late for the next couple days.

I'm actually awake around 5:00, but nowhere near my Wii. I'll have to sit this one out.
But I could play Saterday/Sunday around the same time if anyone feels like it. My connection seems to be pretty crappy lately though...

Okay, today the lag wasn't so hideous, right? Speed could be much better, but it was better than last weeks. How was it when I had not joined?
@8bit and Parrot: I'll try to be online at those times.

Okay. I'm back.
Not much interesting match here (probably except when I GREAT AETHER'd Johans and Nester), yeah. For the first time ever, I'm the host of the matches this time.
I hate the lag today. It's bad already before Johans, but with Johans the speed is twice as slow. Despite I'm on the other side of the globe, matches with Americans don't seem to be much of a problem to me.
There's one thing I'd like to say though. Nester keeps suiciding. Is the lag really THAT bad? Does it look worse on Nester's screen? And to be honest, I don't mean to bash you, but Nester seem to have some strange preferences. 7-stock match with a damage ratio of 2 and time limit of 4 minutes, so much that we can't record replays? I don't really like that idea, ya know. I'm fine with everything so long as I could at least stand a chance.
After Nester goes offline, the lag was pretty much the same. Is Johans trained to fight with lags? It looks like I can do nothing against him when we fight alone.
The second player of mine who joined briefly is my little cousin. That is to say, we all lose to a 9-year-old little boy.
I start to observe something. Nester likes secret taunts, Johans loves his Snake, and sometimes Gdorf, ROB, Sonic, G&W... some of my least favourite characters there. And I use Ike and Kirby characters a lot, no?

Yeah, that Great Aether was hilarious I'm sorry to hear that it still became worse when I joined. When you say matches with Americans don't seem to be much a problem to you, do you mean with other people than us? Believe me, jigglysama is the king of laggy fighting >_< But I must say it again: it wasn't that bad this time. Let's see Nester's opinion.

With the lag, I didn't feel like I had much control, and it got boring fast. So I try to make it interesting for myself by deliberately self destructing, and that gives me control over the match configurations. Then I set up goofy matches. Kinda devious, I know. ;D I also try to keep things interesting by doing the secret taunts. But yeah, the lag was lousy. It's funny that it's worse with Johans than with YL considering how much further away YL is.

Nester:
I really suggest that you don't go SD like crazy. All those stuff reminds me of taunt matches. I'm fine with Smash Taunt though. I do like those.
I have to admit though. Smash Bros do really get bored when played for too long, especially when players' abilities are not equal. Brawl should have supported custom stages online. I actually have a lot to show at that aspect.
Maybe we should set up some conventions, like (this one's pretty much unwritten) we play for 2 hours, or set up rules beforehand on what type of match to take next. Ya know, if you want to be crazy, we can have Time matches with unlimited time, or 99-stock, damage ratio 0.5, no items, final destination, all Meta Knight... (I AM exaggerating here. I believe we all are sensible people.)
My home's setup doesn't quite allow me to chat and play at the same time, with my computer and Wii in 2 different (although close) rooms.
Johans:
As far as Brawl goes, this match of ours is better than the average "With Anyone" match. I only played "With Friends" matches with the two of you, so I can't really tell much. For other games, Mario Kart Wii is perfect with no lag even when you choose to play with international strangers. I only played friend matches with Boo Destroyer before (arranged privately), and he's Californian. If network doesn't cross the Pacific Ocean (I doubt that though), then we're farther away from each other than anything.

I don't know what's the route taken when the three of us play together Let's see how it turns out when playing with Parrot. I played twice with GameboyProductions this week and I swear we had no lag at all.

Your internet connection speed? Connection type?
For me, it's Ethernet, with 50 Mbps in use. The only thing used is a wireless router temporaily connected for Nintendo WFC usage (I'm directly connected to the internet without routers now; you can even look for me using a Class A IPv4 address).
Surely this gives more than enough connection power. If you're having problems with certain people, Johans, I suspect it's the imperfection of your ISP - that they have different connection speed for connection with different networks.

Mine is Ethernet and the speed is supposed to be 100.0 Mbps.
I've always used the USB connector. Not directly to a router. But I don't think it makes a difference if I'm able to play fine with others (although they've been matches of only 1 person or siblings against me), so I'd go with the ISP problem or how complex was the route taken to connect all of us.
EDIT: Just played with Parrot and we had no problem at all (that was fun!). Then again, we didn't test it by having a third person join.

Lag depends on stage of play, it seems. Later matches seem to have less lag.
Here is a sample match of a Brawl session Johans set up privately with me. Video in real time (i.e. not replay).
Here is another match when I accidentally disconnected and had to reconnect.
This one looks laggier, no?

I'm no longer connecting through the USB connector, as I finally have a wireless router. I continue having clean matches with USA people (still can't guarantee good US - Central America - Hong Kong matches). We haven't played in months, so I figured I'd make a new appointment. Feel free to request a change (DST is over, right? ): Sunday 04:00 (GMT)Sunday 12:00 Hong Kong Sunday 05:00 Netherlands Saturday 23:00 EST Saturday 22:00 CST / Guatemala / Costa Rica Saturday 20:00 PST Special invitees: Shrikeswind, Arcadenik, nensondubois

Actually, Daylight Savings is still in effect. (It ends November 1.) I think I can be there, if it's OK. (I promise I won't self destruct. )
