'K, so after playing a bit through Pulseman (combined with some research) I noticed a few similarities between the games (as both were made by Game Freak, same artist, composer, etc.). For instance, listen to the music of the first level in Pulseman. More specifically about 1:11 in. Sound familiar? Here are some visual similarities... The flying duck at the top here looks like Xatu. Also here are more similarities. This is all just fun speculation. Just thought I'd let you guys think about it.

A particularly noticable example you'll find later is the Gunfish enemy looks a l lot like Remoraid.

It's funny because I asked my bro "what Pokémon does this enemy resemble?" and the first thing he said was Sharpedo (because of the eyes or something). But it is the same concept than behind Remoraid (minus the addition that Remoraid is a remora that attaches to a Mantine). The boss of the water stage in Pulseman even uses one of those enemies as its weapon. Aquatic stage with the gun fish enemiesBoss battleA curious Pokémon fact: Mantine is able to learn Signal Beam, Psybeam and Bullet Seed in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and onwards if taken to a move relearner. It happens that Remoraid is also able to learn those three moves, so it's safe to assume that a Mantine's Remoraid is actually the one that shoots them. Hey, Teev, didn't you mean the Hoenn Gym Leader theme? Because the part you mentioned reminds me of that song more. Although the part at 1:33 has a feel of the Kanto Gym Leader theme.

It does sound like the Hoenn one. I never got too into Ruby though, it just didn't pull me in like Red and Silver did.

Strange, I was reading something about Rotom and Pulseman again earlier today. The similarity between the two has been pointed out before. Personally? I am sold on "Voltekker" and "Saint Anne". I was nearly sold on Rotom, until I realised the spike on Pulseman's head is actually more like a crest, which would mean he doesn't resemble Rotom in any way. I'm sorry, I just don't see the Ledian resemblance, aside from being "red" and "gloved"... In which case Ledian might as well be a Mario cameo. The rest of the ones on that website can go hang

Maybe... but I think I'd need more than just the name to be the same... Do they resemble the Galaxy Gang in Pulseman in any other way?

I can see him in Ledian... the eyes and mouth area are similar, and identical in colour. I think it's probably more than a coincidence, since blue-black eyes and tan patches around the mouth aren't exactly staples of cartoon ladybugs, but I guess nobody outside of Game Freak'll ever know if that was intentional.
I don't see Remoraid in the gun fish. They're the same concept, but... that's all. And I'm sure those two aren't the only gun fish characters ever created. Looks more like Sharpedo.
And the Galaxy Gang thing... surely that counts? Isn't the fact that both organisations have identical names in games made by the same company enough?

Hey, at least somebody mentioned it.
Though I'm sure the intention of Teev was to compare Pokémon games to Pulseman.

Actually, yeah. The Volt Tackle in Brawl should count as a cameo of Pusleman, not just by proxy, but because of how much more similar it is in Brawl than in Pokemon.

Another similarity that no one has mentioned here about Rotom and Pulseman is their abilities to enter electric "machines". The difference, upto where I have seen, is that Rotom makes things work while Pulseman just enters systems as if they were a continuation of the stage.
Another similarity is Rotom's body and Pulseman in his "Voltecker" state. Both are Orange "masses" in the middle with blue Plasma surrounding them. Both conduct electricity if touched, too.

The battle theme for Rival Pearl is a remix to Neo Tokyo
Rocket Leader Sakakl/Giovanni does have a resemblance to the Leader of the Galaxy Gang, Doc Waruyama

In my perception, the most similar parts between the Neo Tokyo theme and the Sinnoh rival theme are here and here respectively.
