Production IG didn't "do" Wario Land: Shake It... They did the cutscenes and I think the animation for the main characters. It was Good-Feel who "did" the game.
However, I like the idea of three big-name animation studios working on these, some traditional some CGI (by the looks of it). And I bet Pit won't say "-icus" at the end of every sentence and sound like a 70 year old 40-a-day smoker as in 1990-91!
I post on my forums like I handle my women. Twice. In quick succession. Second time significantly shorter than the first. Then naptime. ;D

If I remember rightly, Production I.G. did all of the game's animation, while another anime studio did the backgrounds. EDIT: Aha, found the interview that confirms it.

Here's the Mario Kart 7 dev interview, that shows footage of Lakitu and Metal Mario. au.ign.com/videos/2011/09/13/mario-kart-7-developer-interview?objectid=77805And if there was a Metal Box item, what gameplay function would it actually serve? Can't make you invincible (Star), the only function I can think of would have to be increased weight for bumping people, and even that sounds pretty crappy. I hope battle mode this game doesn't suck ass like MK Wii.

From what I've played, it's controlled and balanced a lot more like Mario Kart DS, which is a good thing.

What interests me is how are Mario and Mario Kart going to make use of StreetPass.
I'm going to think of Mario Kart as being rather boring, since it's going to be the same thing over and over again. Despite all these years of evolution elsewhere, Mario Kart remains low polygon count, 16 courses only and run on the same set of rules. It will, like DS, be the first game to facilitate online play. Will be one of those "will definitely buy, but won't be hyped about it" games for me.

What interests me is how are Mario and Mario Kart going to make use of StreetPass. Are they going to? Neither of the two Nintendo games I own so far use it at all... I can see Mario Kart coming up with something, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mario 3D Land doesn't use it at all. Despite all these years of evolution elsewhere, Mario Kart remains low polygon count, 16 courses only and run on the same set of rules. Wait, 16 courses? Is that confirmed? That's a huge step down... Even Mario Kart DS had twice that many. EDIT: Oh, right. 16 NEW courses. And presumably 16 revamped old courses. I was worried for a minute there. XD

I know that this is a late call now, but for those who don't know there will be a second 3DS Conference tomorrow (Friday 21st October at 8pm JST) with news further Mario Kart 7 information and information regarding the November update. This time it's only a pre-recorded presentation, which will be streamed on nintendo.co.jp as usual.
There are rumours going around that the November update will be on November 4th, after an announcement at a Nintendo event in Munich:
"A new StreetPass game, previously teased during September's Nintendo 3DS Conference 2011, will be included in the update, though details surrounding this game are unknown.
The update will also include 3D video recording, improvements to the StreetPass Mii Plaza and Nintendo eShop."
I guess we'll have to see tomorrow!
