 Alright, this here's the official DOJO thread where we can discusss whatever news is posted on the Smash Bros site eventually. It's also the place where we can point and laugh at images Sakurai uploads to the site, five days a week! First post has the daily image hotlinked for your easy browsing pleasure. I'll edit the thread title the moment the actual titles are revealed. Unless they're really called SSBWiiU and SSB3D in which case, uhh.. |

Ha, didn't notice that. Yeah that works.
And it looks like the image gets updated at 9AM GMT every weekday, just so you know what time to check if you're itching for a new image.
Have to say I think I like 3DS' Battlefield design better than the WiiU version. That backdrop's just gorgeous.

I hope we get a more blog-like approach in time; nothing wrong with pictures, but half the fun of the Brawl DOJO was the daily updates on the game's goodies.

Brawl didn't have a blog from the start, either. It had blog entries since the end of May 2007, almost a year after the initial E3 announcement. The initial Brawl site was wordier than the current site though. The current site has nothing but images. Meanwhile, I sometimes go back to Brawl's website for some Sakurai-style commentary. |

Because they moved the files from www.smashbros.com/ to www.smashbros.com/wii/Some of the links on that site are direct hard links (like the Snapshot Galore 2 & 3 pages that link to the other language versions), and they naturally break because of the move. Whoever maintained the Smash Bros. site didn't bother to leave behind redirection pages, which is a pretty bad practice for updating websites. |

Oh shit, new content incoming.  Atleast Pikmin & Olimar show up in the Wii version. (People were worried about Sakurai's comment on how the Ice Climbers gave them trouble in the 3DS version, expecting some changes for characters like them) Probably the new Pikmin stage back there too. Wonder what crazy hazards they'll throw in this time. |

This should be the pre-Pikmin 3 version of PNF-404. I heard that Pikmin 3's version is much more post-apocalyptic, with most traces of (hypothetical) humans reclaimed by nature.
I'm not going to take anything Sakurai says in unofficial media seriously. He said they were cutting characters in some interviews and that they were trying to fit in as many as possible in others. It sounds as if Sakurai himself wasn't serious about the answers, having said those just to give something to the interviewers.
I'm going to say the final change will not be unlike Melee-to-Brawl - lots of new ones added, while some whose fame is time-limited (Mewtwo, Roy) or don't stand out (Dr. Mario, etc) get cut.
And come on, just formally introduce the stages already!

Nice, Olimar's was confirmed pretty damn quick. He was definitely a fun character in Brawl, with all that "keep in mind what pikmin you have coming next", so you'd have to make quick decisions on whether to Side Smash (Red/Yellow), Grab (Blue) or Side Special (White/Purple) that incoming foe.
Anyway, I'm happy with the way they're presenting info this time. A little info here and there gives space to fan speculation, always a fun time with that, unlike last time in which they gave off too much info and we basically knew the entire game before it was released, down to the details.
