Hi again! Recently, I saw on Ellen DeGeneres "Sam the autistic Dancing Barista" appear in front of the host and earned his dream trip to Japan, which I'm also autistic and wanted to check out Japan. I'm also considered a great pastry chef and coffee connoisseur. As for my interest in Nintendo, it's kind of becoming overwhelming to keep it very interesting. A typical fan of Nintendo sounds to me as a silly one. Popular games seem to have more than enough support, while some of my relatives take me to local underrated places with little to no problems, so why not do the same with lesser known video games like how Derek the Happy Video Game Nerd is doing? My parents want me to be productive instead of just playing around alone. And speaking of Internet sensations, it's been a while since I heard Justin "JewWario" Carmical being gone after spending time on YouTube sharing YCPT videos. I inspired him to add the rap mashup of Nazo no Murasame-jou at the end of this video he uploaded: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmBrn0LdOvYI might could take his place, but it might be too late or unnecessary. A typical gamer just jumps into the very first glance they see, while some autistic people like me look way deeper, like finding a needle in a haystack before the haystack. After seeing Cloud Strife added to SSB4, while Pokemon becomes even more complicated and overwhelming, I feel like fainting. The economy seems to feel less comfortable than before. After I heard John Tesh say "Be happy with what you got. Don't ask for more.", I thought that video game music seems to be enough, as long as if any of them don't become boring. They are my mood settlers. Another problem with Nintendo is that I feel like I'm running out of ideas in supporting the company's history. Any suggestions?

So, um... you want to promote the lesser known parts of Nintendo, and you don't know what to do? I honestly don't have much to suggest if it's just Nintendo games you're interested in. I've seen enough Nintendo that obscure games alone won't make me interested. I don't need to hear about Gumshoe or Marvelous for the 100th time. Here are some stuff that I can think of, but I think some of those are well-covered by others too. - Nintendo games on systems that aren't Nintendo's (think Super Mario Bros. Special) - A catalog of all cards, igo, shogi, mahjong and other board games Nintendo has released (the official website only lists the more recent ones) - A listing of Nintendo-related video announcements (believe it or not, those get lost forever easily) - Non-Nintendo games with Nintendo involvement (such as certain releases of Monster Hunter with Nintendo costumes) - Nintendo in other media (manga, movies, Nendoroid, figma, McDonald's toys...) From my perspective, talking about Nintendo's regular games on their own systems is pretty much unhelpful, becuase of this awesome site called Nintendo Database. It's their involvement in other areas that I'm interested in if you're ever thinking about doing Nintendo-related research.

One think I would suggest is covering more modern obscure games. In 2016 everybody knows about Murasame or Joy Mech Fight, but by covering games like Densetsu no Quiz ō Ketteisen or Culdcept you can really shine a light on games that are out of sight for a lot of western gamers.

Currently, I know how to pronounce Hiragana and Katakana, but that's all for now. Human translator friends seem difficult to find. Last time I found one was at HG101 forums saying they can add English subtitles to the Satoshi Tajiri as a VG Reviewer video I uploaded. Still waiting today, but perhaps he quit.
I'm constantly stuck at home due to my parents being busy with their own concerns, while I need a driver's license and a reliable truck or SUV with good safety ratings and mileage, because even today, I heard about people in my area frequently driving over the 30 MPH speed limit while even refusing to stop behind a school bus picking up students. Although some drivers are doing well, there needs to be more safe drivers.
All I can think of doing right now is producing detailed and informative videos about both, my life with video games and other forms of entertainment, as well as other histories using Sony Movie Studio 13 and other apps in my Surface Pro 2.
As for fan art, there's too many things in reality distracting me while I heard some people say that art school is a stupid direction to go to. Some drawing apps are Windows-exclusives. I tried even snow-sculpting, but that didn't catch enough attention, while it rarely snows in my area.
In the MUGEN community, the most prominent creations I find there are crappy arrangements of shotoken characters, poorly accurate / poor-AI characters, Capcom-style frankensprites, and other boring content due to the unuser-friendly atmosphere of MUGEN content-making apps. However, several Japanese users seem to do great.

Wow, Parrot. Sounds more like you're making excuses to not get your life in order. I don't have autism so I can't speak with certainty, but your parents sound like they're genuinely trying to help you get ready for a future that they might not be in and you can't handle the changes. Is that correct? I don't care about Nintendo as much as I used to because I have a life now. I have a job, I'll have my bachelor's degree in a few months, I have a girlfriend I'm living with, and I have bills to pay. I'd even go so far to say I'm a different man than the fifteen/sixteen-year old who joined this forum ten years ago. But that doesn't mean I don't have the same interests and hobbies. Hell, I spent almost $200 on a Saturn game a few weeks ago which any normal person would NEVER do. I doubt most normal people even know what a Saturn is... Anyways, I don't want to sound preachy or anything, but I'm going to give you a little helpful advice anyways. Worrying causes stress, stress causes anxiety, anxiety causes fear, fear causes someone to coop themselves up and refuse to change. For example, why don't you have a driver's license yet? You won't know how dangerous the roads are until you've been out there yourself. Driving is only dangerous if it's done irresponsibly (or by proxy). Have you ever actually seen a wreck? Out of all the people driving in my life, I've only seen a small handful of wrecks, which would be somewhere around the .0001% range or something. I dunno, I'm no statistician. Either way, sorry for this life-y post. I just want you to be happy. Also, play more non-Nintendo games. Seriously.

Me, I haven't been able to play any games all that much lately. I'm still a Nintendo fan, but here's the thing. Let me ask you guys this: Have you ever felt so satisfied with a game franchise that you feel like you don't need any more games in it?
Well, that's me now. For a lot of series.
There's only a few upcoming games I really want: -Star Fox Zero (+ Guard) -Metroid Prime Federation Force -Kirby Planet Robobot -Zelda Wii U (maaaaaaaaybe)
I love 3D World and Mario Maker for what they are, I really do. But it still feels like the Mario series hasn't been, shall we say, as "grand" as it used to be anymore. I'm still on the fence about the next Zelda, but all the 3D Zeldas and A Link Between Worlds have done it just fine for me already. (I really wish they kept their faces shut about Zelda Wii U for a while until this year) There's not going to be that many Metroid games around these days, but that's another story... New Leaf is the best Animal Crossing yet, and I'm not even interested in the other two games that just came out. And Kirby, oh Kirby. I always felt that Super Star Ultra, Return to Dream Land, and Triple Deluxe were the series at its best. But now along comes Planet Robobot out of nowhere. And the funny thing is that Kirby games like these never disappoint me in the slightest. I heard there's a Pikmin 4 coming, but I still feel somewhat satisfied at 3. I'm not sure if I really want a Splatoon 2 that much either. And I honestly feel like Smash Bros. 4 is the best it's ever been and don't need more of it; Honestly, where else can you put Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, and Cloud all together in the same place?
I'm still on the fence about the NX. I'm aware we won't hear of or see it until E3, but it all just depends on what kinds of games it'll have to offer. I keep saying I'll be done with Nintendo for a long time, but then more games come out and they keep me back for more. Man alive, what's a Boo Destroyer to do?

Well, may as well say my thoughts.
I don't really consider myself a Nintendo fan per se, and more of a fan of multiple game series that happen to be Nintendo-published. I can spend forever talking about Kirby or Golden Sun or Fire Emblem or 3D Mario, and I'm interested in 2D Zelda and Star Fox and Picross 3D enough to buy those games, but you'll never see me too interested in Pikmin or Splatoon or Xenoblade (not a fan of RTS, online multiplayer or western-ish RPGs). I probably like Bomberman or Metal Slug more than most Nintendo titles (those series are discontinued though).
As for interests in the various series that I am interested in, I don't see them diminishing yet. I'll probably still get really excited if they announce another Kirby (oh wait they just did) or 3D Mario. Yes, I'm satisfied with the existing ones, but I haven't reached the threshold of diminishing use value yet.
Smash does, maybe, but time will tell. Actually, Smash already feels old, since it covers only up to Super Mario Maker. But I also fear that Smash will start including random third party guests that are Internet fads at best.
As far as the NX goes, games sell system to me, and I haven't seen NX games yet.

As time as gone on I've found I had to downsize my interest pool from Nintendo as a whole to strictly Mario, purely because of the expense.
And even then, lately I've been focusing more on digging up old bits of Mario material that nobody in the English-speaking world knew existed than complaining that Nintendo isn't giving me the new Mario game of my dreams. I've even become interested in starting my own website, since the ones that exist (TMK and Mario Wiki) are dead if not dying.

(I know this is an old thread, I just feel the forums don't update too much anymore, so hope this is OK) I remember you once chatted to me about some deep themes on another forum (which don't worry, I won't talk about for your confidentiality), and recently I've realised I've been in a similar boat. I remember you used to contribute to game research a lot, and this thread reminded me of you. In case your still feeling unwell rest assured don't worry it's going to be OK. (hug) I'm also on the autistic spectrum. I went through two mental illnesses (including a long-term one) including psychosis. There is usually a route cause, even if it is obfuscated by something and for me personally it was because I wanted to find validation for my gender, a reminder that things 'are not black and white', and get back to what I've always been doing; uploading videos about Pokémon glitches and researching them. By this I mean you don't have to drive, worry about the political world or yourself, or even get a job if you don't want to; as while things can be pressing there is always a way out of the suffering, even if a little detachment is needed. Like, for months I never worked as hard as I used to on my projects because I couldn't see the way but as things gradually cleared up I went back to a sense of normality and a self-identity or purpose. Also even if the physical symptoms associated with the depression like tiredness and like a sense of pressure due to anxiety persist, they are manageable. Always remember you have your own self-dignity, yes maybe if (like me) you have personal challenges try your best and believe in yourself some may say free will is quantum, it can be found with enough belief. Like with me, I have an addiction to my project work and staying up late even up to about 1PM at worst through the night. A solution was to use Windows Task Scheduler to automatically shut down the computer. Yes too, I relate with that about Nintendo re: Cloud and Smash Bros. becoming extremely popular and huge. I think back to say 2002, I would play Super Smash Bros. Melee with my brother. It was much simpler but still very immersive and it motivated me to play it. I feel as a child life is a lot easier, and we take these things for granted because we have the support of parents and purpose through school. But it makes me think about the whole concept, in the UK for instance there was an emphasis on meritocracy, aiming high, and there are also similarities with the "American Dream"; that through enough hard work you can become prosperous. Though it's not that simple, for instance I once wanted to be a radiotherapist but now I'm leaning more towards just being an gardener who still loves to do research on Nintendo and Pokémon as a hobby. As if one is not feeling well, no matter how much money or position they are in, an underlying issue will remain. My mum is actually a mental health nurse and she says talks about this and the importance of absconding from deep subjects if you feel stressed and trying (but not devaluing yourself through letting the negative thoughts win) to secure a good diet and sleep. Small can be beautiful though, I say continue to study and enjoy your games maybe if you're feeling anxious do small fact files until you feel comfortable or a quick game of a game you like. (I started with 5 short glitch related articles a day, they weren't too heavy just like about the empirical results of what some scripts do, and like you I don't believe in Wikipedia's focus on things like "consistency", "notability" being too important (we're both inclusionists)). Additionally about how my own interests have changed. I used to be a stereotypical Mario/Pokémon girl, but transitioned to a focus on research for wikis and a love in Starfy and obscure things.
