For Battle Clash, I would keep it simple and use the cross hairs from the box art. Big Brain Academy I would use a motarboard cap, and Brain Age the head silhouette from the North American box art. For Barker Bill, maybe use his top hat, there really isn't much unique to that game. Are you sure the cross hair is distinctive enough? I mean there must be a million games that have that kind of cross hair. For Big Brain Academy I'm using the sketch of Dr. Lobe from the original game. Brain Age I want to refrain from using something that was on American box art. I want these icons to be relevant across all regions.

Honestly I don't think the crosshairs are that iconic, but Battle Clash doesn't really have any distinctive emblems or power ups outside of the SuperScope, and that's best left for SuperScope 6. Although I guess a lot of human chiefs seems to have a gold flower on their outfits, so I guess that could also work.

Hey nerds! I've been pretty busy with babies and stuff. But look! There's been an update to the first post. Yes! I finally started "B" with Baseball, Bass Fishing No. 1, and Big Brain Academy!

Hey dorks and losers, I bring you good news! I finally finished "B"... Some of them didn't turn out as well as I wanted. Particularly Backgammon and BattleClash. What? I had nothing to work with!
Anyway, "C" looks easier.

Fry hasn't updated the site in ages. March 2016, says the last update. Makes me happy that it was this year, actually

Wow is it okay for me to bump this? It's been 8 years already?! But hey I'm back like an eclipse event! I have a question for the community I consider to be the most knowledgeable english speaking Nintendo fans. As some of you know I have this ongoing Smash Assist Project and now the time has come for Dr. Kawashima. Now you may have noticed that my original Icon for the series is just a generic brain. I've seen other people use the cover art for the series. But I didn't want to use that since it's not something used in all regions around the world. It has to be an icon that is used worldwide. What do you think I should do? Stick with the boring old brain? Or do something new?

By "community," I assume you mean the two of us that still come here regularly. I'm probably not the one to ask about it since I've never played a Brain Training game. When I think of that series, I think of mathematical equations. But that probably wouldn't make a very good icon.

For iconography related to Dr Kawashima's Brain Training, the first thing to come to mind is Dr Kawashima's polygon head. But that's not easy to use as a silhouette. Maybe make it so that it's more of an outline, like what you'd get when applying colour threshold? The next thing to come to mind differ between versions. For the Japanese DS original, it'd have been the "脳" (brain) kanji in the red circle, but this part of the title text is not highlighted in the Nintendo Switch version. Likewise, for the overseas releases, it'd be the head outline seen on the game package, but the image itself differs between the DS games and the Switch version.

Reducing Dr. Kawashima's head down to the main parts: hair, glasses, eyebrows, and probably outline, might work.
I'd still vie for the cross divided face profile on the boxart of most regions even without it being present on the Japan release. It's a good iconic representation and ties into Kawashima Ryuta's work with neuroimaging on which the games are based.

Well I whipped this up. What do you think? By "community," I assume you mean the two of us that still come here regularly. Lol! Well I still appreciate it. I miss old forums like these. Discord seems to have siphoned away people from this format, but could you revive an old topic like this on Discord? I think not!
