No offense, Magna17, but try to think about what you'd really like to see as a cartoon series, instead of just posting random Nintendo games...

I only cause pain when frustration causes me equal or greater pain. I have already asked you to stop posting random game titles that you think up as you drift in and out of various game lists and actually say SOMETHING even vaguely interesting to do with the subject of Nintendo games on TV. But you ignored that and went on. I got annoyed when you started listing games you'd listed already. That was too much... and Pictochat? Please stop for a second and THINK. What would a Pictochat TV series be LIKE? If it's like nothing... then don't mention it ever again! Think before you speak or you waste everyone's time. Like I say, hurtful, perhaps, but if you can say something interesting on the subject I promise not to hold a grudge

I have to admit, when I saw Pictochat listed I had a great big laugh. It's so absurd I can forgive magna for posting it ;D

I haven't read all the posts here, just the first one and last few...
Honestly - I think NO games should cross over into the TV or movie realm, just as movies and TV shows should NEVER cross over into the video game realm.
Sorry if you disagree, but it never works when a movie or a TV show goes to a console, and movies based on video games are cheesy and often terrible - such as the RE movie(s).
As for TV shows - I can barely remember the Mario Bros. - related cartoons, but we did get them here in AU, and whilst as a kid I thought they were great... they really didn't work - characters from the games never translate right in a series, the stories are all wrong and inconsistent, etc, etc, etc.
That's what I think, and I'll stick by it. ;D

Actually, sometimes video games translate very well. It just depends how close to the original games the TV writers keep it. The Resident Evil movie sucked. The Super Mario Bros. movie makes me vomit. But I'm still waiting for a Pokemon movie I didn't enjoy (though I've only seen the first three) and Sonic X hasn't been too bad, either. They're both anime, so maybe that's the connection. I can't wait to see what the F-Zero series is like. Looking back over the older TV shows, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show wasn't too bad, really. Same goes for all the different Sonic the Hedgehog shows that have been made over the years. They just tend to get a lot criticism (from me mostly ) for being inconsistant with the games they're based on.

Games converted to TV can be good. The Japanese Megaman EXE, Kirby, Pokemon and Sonic X shows not only stick to the characters and games (well... not so much Pokémon) but make it all entertaining as a series as well. I presume the same is true of the F-Zero anime, though I've not seen it yet.
It does seem to be a problem derived from how differently Japan and the west view the realm of videogames. In Japan, videogames are a part of the culture, whereas in most of the rest of the world it is little more than a geeky subculture. Videogames are popular and becoming ever more widespread, true, but as a whole they do not have acceptance. The average man on the street may have played Grand Theft Auto, but he's unlikely to have played Paper Mario or Metroid Prime.
And this is where the problems lie. So long as the mass market isn't that interested, the TV executives will try and find ways to coax them to the new film/TV series by adding things, changing characters, and so on. This, I suspect, is why American-made videogame cartoons are dire and embarassing (even for those that love the games) and why Japanese-made videogame cartoons can have a strange effect on people, making them watch. The Japanese ones respect the games.
But then I suppose a lot of books have the same problems when being translated to film as well... blame the executives.

Picto Chat?! ; Its' an accessory for the touch screen. I will think of a show what about Mr. Stevenson: Master Detective with his, assistant and daughter Jennifer Stevenson with some crime fighting action and search for clues and puzzles it might be a rate for PG. magna17 just try to stop, think, think again, say it to yourself and say it out loud.

If it was done as computer graphics like ReBoot, I'd love to see Metroid television series ^_^ I wonder how close they'd keep it to the storyline, though.....I mean, let's face it, Samu performed near-genocide on the Metroid race just because she was pid to, and she's blown up every plnet nd pace station she's been on. This does not exactly make her look heroic, you know XP
Thre's an F-Zero series out, but I haven't seen it, so I don't know how good it is...
I hoope I get into film one day. You'll see some true-to-the-original stuff if I do ^_^
