Welcome to my made up Nintendo game developer! You guys are the new employees! If you had unlimited resources, and had permission to use any Nintendo franchise, what imaginary game would you make ;D
It can be just an outline, or fully detailed plan with lists of characters, levels, items, secrets, side quests, and so on, but that might be overdoing it a bit.
Personally, I'd make that Pokemon 3D RPG that every Pokefan dreams of, with a Final Fantasy-like emmersive story (but with Pokemon).

Colosseum got SO close to realising that dream.
Didn't I start a post just like this already in the Classic Nintendo section?

I had a idea for a really cool game a while ago.... The Legend of Zelda - Lands of Hyrule.
Imagine, if you will, an MMO action/adventure game bassed in the world of OoT. Your character could be either human, wood elf, goron, or zora and could use a variety of weapons ranging from swords, axes, spears and the such. While you could play the game by yourself, many quests would require several players in a "Four Swords" sort of way.
Also, the world would expand a bit beyond just Hyrule Kingdom and include a few neighboring kingdoms as well.

I thought this one up before this year's E3:
Carrying on from Wind Waker, Cel-shaded Link and pals sail off to find new lands to live in. In the next Zelda game then, you would have to build and run new Hyrulean settlements in a Sim City sort of way, with different village configurations (e.g. If I put the Town Hall here and the shops there) unlocking different secrets and more importantly different dungeons.
The other half of the game would be obviously to play through the villages you created (chatting to villagers to see what needs to be changed/rearranged in the next building session) and complete the dungeons you unlocked (of course, you can't change the layout of the dungeons, as that might make the game too easy).

nintyboy, your idea sounds very VERY similar to the idea behind Fuuraibou no Siren 2: Oni Shuufui! Siren Shiro on N64 - where basically you head into monster/puzzle filled dungeons to find materials and helpers to rebuild a village. The better your village does, the more you get from the dungeons. I don't know how close to your dream this is... but if you tolerate Japanese text maybe you could think about importing the game of your dreams... err... sans Zelda, of course

Hmmm...I'm afraid Japanese is a bit impenetrable to me (I can bearly speak my native language: posh scouser). All I can do is hope for a miracle that Nintendo can read my mind from a long distance, and then agree that my idea is a good one, which would be even less believable than the mind reading.

I'd like a GTA-style game except its set in Mute City. Ah hell, I think it'd be great if Nintendo farmed it out to Rockstar North (they used to have a pretty good relationship during the N64 days when they were DMA Design).

I'd quite like to see Argonaut work on another "Starfox Adventures" game. They seem to do a lot of work on 3D adventures these days, and if Rare isn't going to do it then might as well bring in the people who came up with the idea in the first place. And they're British, so it won't be that big of a difference.

How about a variation of the popular series 'The Sims' set on Corneria or in the Mushroom Kingdom, where you have to cope with living an everyday life in and around obstacles such as Andross's invasion or Bowser's latest evil plan. Actually, that would work well in the Zelda universe as well...

Well I'm stumped for more ideas, except for maybe a puzzle game involving funny monkeys killing evil clowns to get to the highly prized cheese and cheese-related products...

argonaut?! *has horrible "Croc" flashback* Did they do Croc? They did Starfox, Stunt Race FX, Buck Bumble (which I now have), and lots of other good things. Now they're doing lots of computer generated TV stuff, and the Harry Potter console games... so not a perfect record. But are you sure they did Croc?

Hmm... but then consider how good SOME of their games are, and then think that they would be using Nintendo's IP (that Argonaut helped create), and so Nintendo would be guarding it closely. And they're very good at graphics. Let's be honest, they can't do much worse than Rare's Starfox Adventures.

What's wrong with Croc? Is it that bad? I've only played a demo of Croc 1 and the first part of Croc 2, and they both seemed like pretty good games.. Am I missing something?
