It definitely would have to be SMRPG and Super Metroid. I'm probably going to download those two as well along with Earthbound (Mother 2)

Probably not... maybe like the Famicom Mini, Nintendo will publish everything, no matter who made the games.

They can only do that with the express permission of the publisher. So don't expect any of Sony Interactive's NES games any time soon.
But I expect we'll be seeing Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, Hudson and the like signing up.

I wonder if Sony or Microsoft will try to sweet-talk Sega into doing the same thing for them.

I personally hope Nintendo are planning to sweet talk SEGA. Imagine being to download not just any NES/SNES/N64, game, but also all the SEGA games... wow, that would be great.
I also hope theres a chance of doing something similar with the old GB games too... maybe a DS download service?
