www.gwn.com/news/story.php/id/10302/I'm a bit dissappointed, to be completely honest. I was hoping for more Sonic and at least one Phantasy Star. How about you guys? Happy? Disappointed? Indifferent?

I've been a tad disappointed in this since the news first arose...I mean, the Genisis had some great titles, true, but what about the later Sega consoles? The 32X? The Saturn? Especially the Dreamcast. If they would put Jet Grind Radio and Power Stone 1 and 2 on the Virtual Console I could officially retire my Dreamcast and die a happy man.

Yes, but here's another announcement:
They expect 30-40 virtual console games available by the end of the year with potentially a further 10 every week after that!
So expect a few faves to start with (Toejam & Earl is likely to be an early favourite) and then sequels and so on appearing frequently after that.
I say stop your complaining. How many games do you intend to play on this thing at any one time anyway?

I'm 99% certain its 10 a month.
And theres really no reason they couldn't have packed the Virtual Console to begin with.

I'd say there's several good reasons. If they put in like 200 games, how many downloads do you think their servers could cope with at any one time?
Not including their online news, weather and internet services. Wii is going to be awesome-oh power!

Surely Nintendo won't have server problems, but, wouldn't having that many games mean that people are less likely to download heaps at the same time? As it stands currently, when the new month hits and those 10 new titles are released, thats where the potential problems could be.
Still, Nintendo are smart enough not to have Virtual Console problems.

Yes to Sonic and Ristar, but no Sonic 3 makes Smashchu sad.

Tsch... kids. They want everything today and save nothing for tomorrow.
10 a month! Read it again. TEN new games in the VC every month! Sonic 3 will be there before you know it.
No Yoshi's Island either... doesn't mean Nintendo's best game ever won't be on there soon.

Featuring ten games a week as opposed to everything at once will be a nice way of making me buy old games I've never played. In bulk, I'd buy all the MUST HAVES and be done. But ten a month, I'll see the ten new games and decide to pick up ones I normally wouldn't have otherwise.

It's like when they released the NES classics. The ones I bought first were the ones I hadn't actually played as a kid: Xevious, Bomberman, Zelda (well... I never completed Zelda as a kid... same difference).
I still don't own Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros. or Metroid because, to be fair, I already own them several times over as it is.
I imagine this will be much the same. I won't buy any Sonic games, because I can play the Mega and Gems Collections I have on Gamecube (and thus compatible with Wii). But those games that appear that I've heard of but never touched... TurboGrafX and Sega games mostly, I imagine, then I'll be filling up my memory in no time.
I hope Capcom releases Gun Smoke.

Two words for you guys: Gunstar Heroes
It's a must have. Trust me.
As for me, I need Streets of Rage 2 & 3. I already have the first one, and technically I have the second one, but it's the Dreamcast version, and the sound emulation is horrible.

Two words for you guys: Gunstar Heroes You make a good point Most of the VC games Im downloading are either 1)Games I never played(without an emulator) 2)Ones I loved or lost and 3)N64 games that my mother loves so we can have them all in one place.
