I went home recently and made this horrible discovery. I can't get it to work. The system's red light will turn on and the screen will go black, as if the game is about to begin, but the screen just stays black. I think it was from a lack of use/cleaning while I was gone. Any suggestions on how to revive it? Any cleaning tips or advice on who could fix it?

The SNES is old, so this kinda thing is likely to happen. You might want to try cleaning the connectors of the system and your games. If the light's coming on and everything then that may be the problem. Unless, of course, you just haven't plugged the other cable into your TV There's plenty of advice on the web for cleaning old game consoles. The best place to start is right here! ;D
