Let me take you back to a dark time when Nintendo Database did not exist... before we'd even seen SSBM... back when I was working on Pocket Monster Island. Tired of the repetitive statistical nature of working on a Pokemon site, I yearned to work on something with some creativity and flair... something not limited to a single series.
So when SSBM opened my eyes to a world of missed gaming opportunities, I was overjoyed. Four years in I am still pleased with it. However, part of me fears that NinDB has also become a bit too statistical in nature. Aside from the cameos (my favourite section) the game lists are very formulaic. I have no need to go back and actually PLAY many of the games, so long as I know enough about them to get by.
In short, I need an excuse to get playing again... and to spice up my creative output.
I've been planning things such as enemy lists, mini-guides... etc... but now I'm thinking much bigger. NinDB guides to games. Only selected games (namely those I've played through recently)... and rather than sticking to the same old formats, I'm going to go a bit creative on them. Illustrate some sections, spruce them up and make them a bit more colourful. Of course, the content will still be there, but now I'm happy with the fixed width layout of the site, I'd like to try and make use of it.
Anyway, any thoughts or suggestions? Anyone be interested in such things? Perhaps even some people would like to work on a guide themselves? Who knows?
That's what this topic is for.
PS. I expect my first guide will be for a Mario game. Super Mario World is most likely, though don't be surprised if it's another one.

Guides? You mean spoiers? Well, I don't think this site really need guides - many others have archived that already. (Guides may not be spoilers. They can be covering less-known factss, bugs, etc, making it be interesting and do not spoil people who didn't finish the game) On the other hand, there are still TONS of statistical stuff that you should but have not added in. I know that a job like this will never end, and you should be starting to get tired with that... Now here's my ideas: Make the bugs and glitches section! I love to see them. Compare the Japanese and English version. For example, Famicom changes to NES in some WarioWare games, Tetra Trackers being removed in Zelda Four Swords Adventurres, Super Mario World Title differences, or even small things like metres changed to yards in Yoshi Touch & Go. Compare the remakes. Like how games are "squished" in Famicom Mini games, how Dr Mario 64 transferred to the GC in NPC, or even compare Spring Breeze to Kirby's Dreamland. If you think these are boring then, add multimedia things! Look at KRR www.classicgaming.com/kirby ! Media is one of the attraction for me to visit it..

No Flash thingies. Guides can be cool.

There seems to be a swell of anti-Flash websites. I'm not surprised, they are annoying... But no, these would just be HTML with pics and text... just the way NinDB likes it. And yes, YL, they would be spoilers... but you should know by now that it's not in my interest to ruin a game for someone. I have ideas... you may just have to wait and see. And you may have to wait until I have my TV Card boot CD posted down to me. Whoops.

I'll put my hand up in support of guides - I don't see a problem with them.
Better than just adding more of the same, although what you have here is very good - from your point of view, it might be nicer to diversify the site's content, and offer a wider range of info for visitors - guides might just be the answer.
Quick Q. - you still working on that comic you mentioned a while back? The one about the obsessive Nintendo fan? Just wondering...

There seems to be a swell of anti-Flash websites. I'm not surprised, they are annoying... Ya.... I love Flash, but I don't think putting them in websites is a good idea. And yes, YL, they would be spoilers... but you should know by now that it's not in my interest to ruin a game for someone. I have ideas... you may just have to wait and see. I know that you should have something up your sleeves... I'll just sait heare and see. Just to tell you that there may be spoilers! And you may have to wait until I have my TV Card boot CD posted down to me. Whoops. Just install the driver and use a TV card program and that's it! what sort of boot CD are you talking about?

Well, my TV card came with quite a good TV viewing program and all the drivers on it. I need that CD to load the program... I don't have the CD with me... my parents have it somewhere.

I recommend DScaler for your instant use first. It's a pretty cool freeware. (Just an offtopic thing: Will you ever finish moving stuff from your old house? )

I have finished moving stuff, but I've just accidentally left a couple of smaller things behind.

No, it was a comic strip I was going to do called Kid. E, Nintendo Fanboy. But he wasn't the collector kind of 9-Voltish fanboy, but that kind of fanboy who believes Nintendo owes them, and that he should own Nintendo.
But I have a few ideas. I just haven't gotten around to doing any of them. Once I get them started I'd be alright... but it's trying to start them that's the problem.

It became integrated into the SSBM cameos page. The guide was too large and a bit pointless.
