Hey, Fry, I was reading an article at Zelda fan site, The Hylia, about fan works ( www.zhq2.com/battle_over_fanworks.shtml), and it talked a little about copyrights issues. I'm sure Nintendo appreciates dedicated fans, especially since they provide fan site "kits," but have you ever been contacted by Nintendo over copyrights issues? Like asking you to remove certain content or some such? Just asking out of curiosity.

I recall that Davogones (who runs Zelda Legends) ran a Nintendo Image Gallery once upon a time that got shut down by Nintendo. Although I think Nintendo has eased up since then. Fansites are valuable advertising that comes at no cost.

This may be a little off but it could be talking about the person who made the art has copyright. In fact anything you make on the web is automatically copyrighted. But then aging it might not aplie to this.

I have never been contacted by Nintendo to remove anything from my website. I don't see why they would - after all, like has been said, I am a huge fan of Nintendo providing buckets of information at no cost to them, and at great cost to myself (both in time and money).
I was surprised when Davogones had to shut down his Nintendo Image Gallery. But yes, Nintendo seems to have calmed down on that front now.

But a subsidiary of Nintendo who ran a publication *stole* YOUR stuff. They really like it. Maybe those moronic blockheads thought you were owned by Nintendo.

They stole a lot of my stuff. But they aren't a subsidiary - the official Nintendo magazine rights are licensed out to a publisher, who then produces the magazine with marginally more access to information than a third-party magazine. But Emap (the original publisher) lost those rights. I imagine that's got something to do with the magazine being super-lame. I wrote a feature at www.revo-europe.com on the old and new magazine. Check it out

Oh. Well, since Nintendo Power is actually owned by NOA, I assumed that...
All is forgiven?
