This is wonderful news. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Miyamoto-san, for his hard work, persistent drive towards excellence, and his imagination, which is powerful enough to keep a small city running.

For anyone interested, here's what I've managed to dig up on the other two:
Michel Ancel: He has worked on Peter Jackson's King Kong(the game), Beyond Good and Evil, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, Rayman 2, Rayman Arena, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Tonic Trouble, Rayman, and Mechanic Warriors. He's a game designer at Ubisoft.
Frédérick Raynal: He's the creative director of No Cliche. He's worked on Toy Commander, Twinsen's Odyssey, Fade to Black, Time Commando, Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure, Alone in the Dark, Continuum, and Popcorn.
I guess these two are France's best game developers.

Michel Ancel is considered to be one of the world's finest game developers. He's the reason Ubisoft got the King Kong game rights - Peter Jackson was a huge Beyond Good and Evil fan But they're not being knighted. This is in France... and they don't have royalty (a pre-requisite for knighting someone). They're being honoured by the French Minister for Culture and Communication with entry to the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. It's like being knighted... but in French. Poncy bastards Funny how they're honouring two Frenchmen and one Japanese man though. Does Miyamoto have French citizenship or something?

This is a great day for videogames, because their being considered by art by the Minister of Culture and Comminucation of France!
WOO!
Oh yeah, and I'm happy for Miyamoto-san too. I'd like to thank him for creating the Donkey Kong series, many of it's spinoffs, the Legend of Zelda and Nintendogs.

Well... Miyamoto got "knighted" in France. Nintendo.co.uk has some cool pics and an interview. He looks so proud!

Funny how they're honouring two Frenchmen and one Japanese man though. Does Miyamoto have French citizenship or something? Haven't you ever heard of "Le Gend of Zelda?" I'm sorry. I've been holding that in all week. I'm just filled with bad jokes lately. I'll stop now. I think, basically, that if you're going to honor the greatest video game designers of all time, it's hard to ignore Miyamoto-san.
