What are our favourite indie Switch games? My favourites so far are Celeste, Bomb Chicken and Whip! Whip!, Magicat, Skypeace. Celeste is a hard 'insta-death' platformer game similar to VVVVVV with a great scenario/story, but I still haven't beaten it. Bomb Chicken is fun but also hard for me. Whip! Whip! is like a cute retro action game in which you have to defeat enemies on the screen and collect sweets. It's short but fun while it lasts. In Magicat, its a traditional platform game starring a cat. It may be a little simplistic for some but I like it. Skypeace was produced by Sonic Powered, I gather during their 20th anniversary? It's very short, but fun while it lasts. You've simply got to ride like a skateboard in the air while collecting coins and avoiding obstacles. (I don't know if The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince counts here, but if it does I like that game as well, YL talked about it in another thread)

I'm glad to see you back around here, Torchickens, but it feels like you've had six months worth of forum topics built up inside you. Think I might move this to the third-party games forum, tho.
Anyway, this is an easy choice for me: Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. It's a little on the pricey end as far as indie games go, but there is a free demo available. It's an extremely well-made metroidvania with very high production values, and charm to spare. And did I mention the amazing soundtrack? Just a fantastic game all around. And speaking of which, Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, a great remake of a classic Sega Master System game that's actually part of the same series as Monster Boy. It's cheaper and also has very high production values, but is also a much shorter game. Other games worth mentioning: Freedom Planet: My favorite description of this is still "if Treasure made a Sonic game." It's often dismissed as a Sonic clone, but it's unique enough to stand on its own. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero: Another great action-adventure game with a lot of unique charm and humor. This one is not so much a metroidvania, however, as it is a series of linear levels you can re-explore with new abilities. EDIT: Just realized Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is also on Switch, and I actually like it better than Half-Genie Hero. Blaster Master Zero: This remake/reboot of the classic NES game is probably the best in the whole weird Blaster Master series. I plan to play Zero II in the near future. And also, I want to mention the 2014 remake of Shadowgate that was just released on Switch. It's not for everyone, but it's one of my favorite point-and-click adventures. It sticks close to its old-school roots, with abrupt (and often humorous) ways to die, turn limits, and most unforgivably, it's possible to get the game into an unwinnable state without realizing it. It does have an easy "casual" mode that does away with those things, but to me, it's not Shadowgate if it isn't a little hostile.

Thanks Nester! ^_^ Yep, I don't know.. my ideas tend to come in waves sometimes, that and I'm an ambivert and sometimes get shy. However, have a few additional ideas now. All right! Sorry re: it being in the wrong board. Neat, it sounds like an interesting game. Freedom Planet, OH MY GOSH! I can't believe I forgot about that one. (♡ >ω< ♡) Yeah, I read it came out on the Wii U however I first played it on Switch a long time ago up to completion with Lilac, Carol, Milla. Its my aesthetic, I'm interested in Chinese culture (but haven't studied it as much as Japanese culture), the settings of the game and some of the icons are influenced by it, and I feel Lilac is a good feminist role model, she is kind but is not afraid to stand up for herself (whereas other female heroes are sometimes sexualised) (I'm a little more like Lilac now). I like other types of female heroes like Samus, Lucina too though. One of the reasons I got Freedom Planet was because it was similar to Sonic. Apparently it began development as a Sonic fangame so that's in a good part why they're so similar. In addition, I like the exploring and combat system. I've played Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap too, but got stuck on it and sold/exchanged(?) it. However, its an interesting part of gaming history and the Wonder Boy series so I may buy it again at some point. Blob Cat is an interesting puzzle game for Switch, later released for PC. It plays like Chu Chu Rocket and you need to get mice into a hole while avoiding a cat, using an arrangement of arrows controlling their movement, which you place on a board.

I've got to add my praise for Blaster Master Zero. It's a fantastic game in pretty much all ways.
