Casio Loopy is a retro gaming console targeted towards girls. It also came with a built-in thermal colour sticker printer. I've been interested in this for quite some years ago, when rachel from the VGCollect forums (I haven't returned to that site in a long time lol) suggested the admins add a Casio Loopy section to the site; so they did. I decided to get one for Christmas this year and played a little bit of Dream Change: Kokin-chan no Fashion Party (a dress-up game and it seems it has a story? so a bit like Nintendo Style Boutique, Selfy Collection and many other games I suppose); so far the only game I have for the system.
It was fun, but I didn't really know how to progress the game due to the language barrier; so in time I might check Niconico or the Japanese web to see if I can play through it, and update this thread, and when I buy more games talk about my experiences too/update with more video links.
There are two interesting things to note about this console. Basic emulation of the Casio Loopy has still been in progress for several years, but working emulation recently came out for MAME 0.260.
Also, Chakra-kun's Charm Paradise has recently been the last known retail Casio Loopy to have been dumped (which may come useful for flash cart/emulation enthusiasts in the future - since getting real used copies can sometimes be difficult).
It was cute to play on the Casio Loopy, and the controller was OK. I haven't tested the sticker printer yet. I needed to use a step-down converter as not to break it, because I live in the UK (230V) and Japan is 100V. If I remember rightly, there was also a slight issue with the picture being in black and white on my old yellow Orion TV (presumably my parents bought it locally) but I settled for redirecting the display to my computer using a capture device (the same one I mentioned in another thread earlier) later. I'm also thankful there is an option to "listen" to the audio, without having to encode the video as a file first.
