I just noticed you don't have Metroid Dread as a canceled game for the Metroid series. Why not?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that was only ever mentioned in one issue of Game Informer (where they said it was part of Nintendo's 2005 line up) and never heard from again.
I don't think Nintendo ever made an official announcement about the game.

It has been officially announced, it just hasn't been shown. There is no evidence that says it has been cancelled. That's why I haven't said it's been cancelled. Because we don't know if it has.

So, is that why you don't have it listed with future as the date of release?

I think this game was cancelled... why would Nintendo announce a game, but then not say anything about it if it wasn't cancelled? But yeah, we have no evidence so we can't say it's cancelled.

Yeah. It is very obscure.
I was searching "Metroid characters" on the 'net (to see which could go in SSB:R as it was called then) and I went to a Metroid fansite that said something about Dread... but that's it.

Just because a game is announced to be in production doesn't mean any information has to be released on it straight away. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl were announced around the original release of the DS... and we only saw the first footage of the game last month. It was in an official list of games Nintendo produced before E3 2005 (not necessarily a list of games they were showing). Means they have no obligations. I'm just hoping for a classic Metroid 2D game. I like them so much more than the Prime-style games

What about other mystery disappearences like Pennant Chase Baseball or the vanishing Stage Debut? And Marionette? They did say PCB was delayed indefinately. Weren't there people up to last week that thought Tingle RPG must have been cancelled? And surprise surprise its not. You people need some patience.

What about other mystery disappearences like Pennant Chase Baseball or the vanishing Stage Debut? And Marionette? Pennant Chase Baseball was officially cancelled. Stage Debut and Marionette were never officially cancelled, but may have been either transferred to the Wii or dropped off quietly. In fact, when I saw Wii Orchestra and Wii Sports I thought of Stage Debut

Also, I'm assuming, cancelled. But again, not officially announced as such.
The end of a console's life is the hardest for these things. Remember all the N64 games that were transferred to the GC? I imagine it's a bit like that.
In fact, I'd be surprised if Pennant Chase Baseball didn't resurface on the Wii.

Last month, IGN had a report on an official Nintendo release list: Source: cube.ign.com/articles/710/710373p1.htmlQuote: ----- The list included a small batch of games. Some were already known by IGN, such as Super Paper Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong Bongo Blast and a generically labled Kirby game. New to the list, however, are a few other interesting titles that avid fans should keep an eye out for. Geist appeared as a tentative label, releasing at an undisclosed time. This may in fact be a clue as to sequel, though no other information was given. ----- So, at least it still gets mentioned. NPCB got canceled by just being dropped from such release lists.
