There's a lot of confusion surrounding this. A lot of European game publications seem to think a European version of Mother 3 will be released here.
But I wonder why! I mean, yes, it's excellent, but we didn't receive Mother 1 or 2, so it's likely to sell in very small numbers. What's the point in spending that much money in translating a game that's not likely to sell very well?
Of course, I hope it does come out here and it does sell well... but it's all very unlikely.
Nintendo: The Official Magazine UK has said the same thing. It's coming out later this year. But a dozen magazines and websites said the same thing about Mother 1+2.

I'm still taking this information with a grain of salt, but if its true I'll gladly import a copy. I really hope it is, but I'm definately not getting my hopes up, particularly as, as Fryguy said, PALslevania has never had an Earthbound before.
We shall see.

Maybe I should have said rumor. It makes a little sence if you think about it. Nintendo seems to do better in Europe then in the US(proportionaly). In fact were seing alot of trends of this. You guys only got the DS Lite a week later, with a better color and a new game. It could be Nintendo wants to expandd in Europe more. Also there seems to be morw Nintendo fans in Europe so they may feel it could sell here. They ccould also use it as a risk factor. Since ppl can import it for the UK they could see if America would buy it, or if it can sell well there it could do the same for the US.

If so, Nintendo must be really be popular in Australia, where we are being treated really well. We where the first country outside of Japan to get a DS lite.

Hm. EGM rumors have been flying left and right around Nintendo games as of late. A Mother compilation on the DS would indeed rock. The brief playtime of Earthbound I've had so far is quite enjoyable, so I'd be all over that.
As for the Square-Enix games, after the joy DQ8 has been so far, I'd love to see DQIX on the Wii. I'd also love to see anything from the Mana franchise. A MMORPG makes sense, since the enjoyment increases when you play Secret of Mana with others. Let's hope all of these turn out true...
