So, I was surfing the web when I came upon this. Apparently, Nintendo had this Super System and Super Nintendo games were released on it between 1990 and 1992. Only two of the games, F-Zero and Super Mario World., were Nintendo games. I think we can confirm the existance of F-Zero because they're selling the game on eBay. The Killer List of Video Games has a picture of Super Mario World, so I think we can be pretty sure it also exists.

Yes, the "Super System" was released in the US and Europe, and featured three games, Super Mario World, F-Zero and Super Tennis. I've played one at an old seafront arcade a few years back. The problem is, it's not really an arcade game in and of itself - it's like the Playchoice-10 (presumably it was going to have switchable boards that were never released) and so all the games are just SNES games. I had a bit of info up a long time ago. I suppose it couldn't hurt to add that and the Playchoice games and just link through to the SNES/NES games playable on them. I also need to mention R-Type, as Nintendo imported the original arcade game to the US, which is quite a big deal. But there's loads of missing pages - the whole section needs a bit more work. But the same could be said of the whole website!

Yeah, while writing last week's 3PS, I came here to see what info you had about R-Type on the site, and I found... nothing. And I thought, "What kind of Nintendo database is this?"

Well, as I'm sure you can appreciate, it's a regional release of a third-party title - exactly the kind of think I'd like very much to NOT cover on the site anyway R-Type DX on GBC is on the site though! Heh heh heh.

Just wanted to note that about a dozen switchable boards were released, not just the three you mentioned. I also happen to own the SMW board (as well as some other pieces of the system), which contains an extra chip besides the regular game ROM chip, but I don't know what it's for.
