On Sept. 17th, the Nsiders message board (NoA offical forums) were shut down. The reason was that Nintendo was revampingt the site, with the new Nintendo DS and Wii. For four years, the message board has fostered debates, growing feriendships and lots of spam, all in one nice, big community. While Nintendo will leave the forums up, they are in view only fashion, and even PMs have been disabled. This will last Sept. 24th. Nintendo has also said "While their future remains uncertain, in the interim we invite our fans to build on the spirit of community by starting their own Nintendo discussion sites." which makes many assum that this is the end of the forums. While it may not affect us (and could be a good thing) many wandering message boarders now will go with out a home. As so, the internet moves on. GoNintendo

I think many of these 'wanderers' may search for new sites to join. They will search 'Nintendo' on Google and look for the best site, possibly even ours! What I'm saying is, we should probably be prepared for some NSiders to wander in here I just hope we don't get a spammer, which I think we will!

God, thats harsh. The home of hundreds of fans just destroyed like that? It's horrible. There will be many Nintendo fans out wandering around not sure what to do or where to go. How will they keep up to date on information. How will they find their e-friends? It makes me cry Dang thats a horrible way to treat your fanbase.

Y'know, I used to hang out at the official Nintendo forums about 9-10 years ago. I had some friends there, but it was kind of a sloppy place. Then the boards went down indefinitely...for a number of years, as a matter of fact.
And somehow, I survived. Sometimes, you just need to move on. I'm sure there are a lot of disappointed kids, but I don't see it as Nintendo screwing over its fanbase. Their fanbase stretches far beyond the official forums.
I can't believe I've been on this forum for over two years...

I posted there...maybe 10 times in a week's span. It was just too chaotic for me. I am disappointed in the suddenness of the forum's closure, but hopefully Nintendo will have a new board or method of communication up in a bit of time.

TheFox88: Yeah, this is true. I think a lot of people coming here was due to Smash. The boards got a lot of nue members in a short abount of time. Tv Eye, Spud, you, Kohta, Sav. and many others who I can't spell their names. List is pretty long. It's good and bad. Good we get more members (could always use more activity) but bad as we'll get more spammers. But you learn the internet rules as you go so it could be a good thing.
Spud:I agree. Not nice to the fanbase, but it may have been more hazard then help. Spam as far as the eye can see. But I think we can all agree the sudden drop of the forums was not a good thing.

Yeah, I was kinda expecting a surge in activity as Brawl news picked up. Which is why I've been working on the site a bit more

Meh. I've been an "active" Nsider since March 2004. Honestly, with all the idiots, arrogant users, annoying fanboys and anti-fanboys, and all the crappy sprite comics, I'm sort of glad it's down. Although I still can't help but miss a forum I had been going to for over three years. Oh well.
I just hope it doesn't take six year before they bring back the forums, like the last time they were shut down.

Well, the good thing is we haven't had a flux of them yet. It might be good if they come here. Learn a little. We'll probobly see in the future. NinDB being a bussling part of the internet. Siure the site is big, but the community always smaller.

I'd hate to see more people like PikaFran come in.

Even Nsiders are leauges beyond him. Pikafran just never learned, or never cared. Many other members have gotten a lot better. Starfoxroy I beleive was a great example. He's learned the rules a lot better. Maybe we should have a post with the rules on it.
Also, looks like most of the Nsiders went to Smashboards.

Every forum believes their self leagues ahead of others in terms of intelligence.

Every forum believes their self leagues ahead of others in terms of intelligence. But after seeing other forums, there is truth to that statement.

He is possibly Ayra's (from Fire Emblem 4) only fanboy and he is well known on Nsider for making threads supporting Ayra and bashing Lip and how he would refuse to buy the game, let alone the Wii, if Lip is playable and Ayra is not.
