But they cater for the gamers who don't know other gamers, don't they?
I mean, even MPH has a single-player.
I hope this isn't ONLY 2-player, or else it'll be useless to me... Unless it's online enabled, which it probably isn't...

I doubt it's exclusively 2-Player. By the looks of it you control either Mario or Luigi, and the computer maybe controls the other one.

well looks like a great game if you're alone or not. He's to Mario and Luigi's return to side-scroling

Is New Super Mario Bros. really going to be the final name of this game?

I doubt it.
But then, I guess that would describe it perfectly

I doubt it. But then, I guess that would describe it perfectly Just like Super Mario 64*4, a much better name than Super Mario 64 DS.... Perfect names won't stay. Duh.

I doubt New Super Mario Bros. will be its final name, but with Nintendo you never know! I doubt they'll call it Super Mario Bros. 5 or anything like that.
They might want to change the name to distance it from their millions of different versions of Super Mario Bros. they've released in recent years... and perhaps opt for something like "Super Mario Adventures" or something.
I look forward to this reviving the Mario 2D platformer. Hopefully it will be excellent and the first of many.

First of many - yes.
I actually hope to see a trilogy of DS Super Mario Bros. games. Starting with this 3D installment. Then a 2D detailed sprite-based look (not unlike the Super Princess Peach look we have seen briefly). Finally, a cel-shaded Viewtiful Joe-esque look.
Basically, do a new side-scrolling SMB platform trilogy with each game having a different graphical and visual style - I think it would be very very cool.

I'd rather trust a member here, not NoA anyway...
Anyway, It's for... 2 players only!? I hoped for infinity!

Infinity? What? Huh? Who shot who in the what now?
I like Andronicus's idea, but since they could probably get 3 games out quicker if the keep the same graphics engine then I say just leave them all the same... but a new 2D Sprite-based Mario? Damn thats tempting.

Gah...must have DS... This looks awesome, like a combination of all of the classic Mario platformers. Also, Mario and Luigi in a platformer at the same time! This is EXACTLY what I am excited about this game. It's been a childhood dream to have Mario and Luigi be able to run around at the same time in a 2D platformer, and it's a reality! Yay! ^^

Is New Super Mario Bros. really going to be the final name of this game? Boxart = proof...?

I saw that boxart, but it had the "RP" (rating pending) logo on it.
It's not necessarily the final name, but it's looking like a good bet it will be. The US and European Nintendo websites are listing it with that title.

Wow, a thread with posts from my birthday. Awesome.
Hard to believe that in just under 2 months we'll be able to play a new 2D Mario game. Wow.
