It's recently been confirmed that NEW Super Mario Bros. (first shown at last year's E3) will be playable this year, will allow for up to four players, and apparently sports much improved graphics. Shame that... I thought the graphics from last year were pretty good, myself. Like a cross between SMB and SM64  |

Wow. Co-op looks awesome. But I had only heard about two players. Do you know who the other characters are? I'm guessing Wario and Yoshi.

From the video I get the feeling the entire game is about racing against, and co-operating with, Luigi... either computer or human controlled.
But an interesting fact: this will be the first original Mario 2D platformer since 1992. Yes... Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins... it's been 13 years!!

It would be cool if it was Wario and Waluigi, though, for a number of reasons, the main one being that it might mean you could ride Yoshi, just like in SMW. |

Gah...must have DS... This looks awesome, like a combination of all of the classic Mario platformers. Also, Mario and Luigi in a platformer at the same time!  |

No, Nintendo.com updated or added all of their E3 game information a week ago. You can hardly say it's outdated when there was NO information on New Super Mario Bros. before that.
I was under the impression it was only for two players anyway.
