It's really starting to look like that would be a good idea But then the other forums would all end up empty at this rate. Here's an idea. You could make a SSB Forum, then combine Classic and Contempory Nintendo into Nintendo Discussion. Classic Nintendo doesn't get a lot of posts anyway, but it should make up for taking away the SSB talk. Plus all Nintnedo talk that didn't really belong in either forum would now go there instead of in NinDB General, giving more room in NDBG for discussion of things not related to Nintendo and talk about the site.

I've got an SSB3 topic: "How many stitches should be visible on Mario's overalls when you zoom in as far as possible?"

Do you think having SSB as a launching title a good idea? Is having it as a start better, or having SSB as a concluding game (release it before a new console's life begin) is better? Here's an idea. You could make a SSB Forum, then combine Classic and Contempory Nintendo into Nintendo Discussion. Classic Nintendo doesn't get a lot of posts anyway, but it should make up for taking away the SSB talk. Plus all Nintnedo talk that didn't really belong in either forum would now go there instead of in NinDB General, giving more room in NDBG for discussion of things not related to Nintendo and talk about the site. My idea: NinDB General + Nintendo talk (maybe divide them into games + strategy + hardware) + Upcoming games That's just a brief idea. Actually I think keeping the forum in this way is good, but some threads may involoe both Classic Nintendo and Contemporary Nintendo, so sometimes it's hard to decide where to post. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Can't wait to own the new SSB! Time to use my money! -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically... if the game you want to talk about has been released for a current system, then post in contemporary, if for an older system, post in classic... anything else in the NinDB forum.
Remakes (or downloads) should ideally go in classic... but I won't complain either way.
Any questions?
EDIT: Oh yes, and I think releasing SSB at the start of the system's life is a very good idea. I think (unless they have two lined up) it would be suicide to release SSB3 for Gamecube now.

Why would they do that? If they spent the time to make the movesets for each character, and to do every cotton-picking animation, voice, and everything else for them, why wouldn't they have them readily available?
But, anyway, *drools*

SSB3 as a final title for GCN is a terrible idea (IMO, of course). In general, its more important to have the strongest launch possible, because people buy consoles when they assume they will get some life out of them - I'm not gonna go out and buy a PS2 or XB now (unless they are cheap), but I will probably buy a PS3 or an X360.

I doubt it will be called SSB3... that's just the name we're using. We don't know anything about it other than it is coming. I hope they choose a suitably awesome name for it...
Super Smash Bros. Retrobution! ;D

Assuming you are talking to me, I meant "title" as in "Game". You know, like how they say "launch title"?

I see now that I was wrong. But yes... in that case I agree. SSB is popular, but it won't save the Gamecube now.

No they will have some with the game but as time goes on they can make new characters and courses for dedicated fans also my original post befor this one said characters and characters. It was supposeed to be chracters and courses.

Forums ideas are:
Nintendo General Present Nintendo Past Nintendo Future Nintendo Nintendo Franchises

There's no point having a present AND future Nintendo forum. Except for times like now, the chances of anything in the future being on a different system to what's in the present are slim.
As for Nintendo franchises, I've toyed with the idea. But would people actually use it? Would you post fanart, fanfics, or just end up using it as a battle box for Zelda storyline theories?

Downloadable characters? Oooooh yessss!
Now I'm starting to think that 512MB of flash memory is too little. I want 2 gigs of them.
And as for releasing it as a launch, it should be good. I won't complain.
That will probably make me to buy the system on the very first day of release (Good! That's probably right after my CE level exam! Having a Rev for celebration is great!).
