cube.ign.com/articles/620/620609p1.htmlacorrding to this source the REV will relese in 2007 for Europe, but I dont think Nintendo will want toi do that. They want the system to relese around the same time as the PS3. But that wasn't offically said by nintendo. And wheres SSB3

It hasn't been officially said at all. MVC said it, and they have a habit of being very wrong about release dates.
There is no way anyone could know a European release date this early. Nintendo hasn't even finalised the hardware... how can we expect to know when to see the console? Seems like certain sources are hell-bent on sabotaging Nintendo's next console... and people are BELIEVING them.

Also, I'd assume Nintendo are most focussed on getting it out in Japan and the US first. In fact, so are Sony and MS too, probably. If Nintendo does choose to release the Rev in late 2006 in Japan, then I wouldn't expect it before 2007 for the PAL countries. Of course I personally hope they put the Rev out early to mid next year to beat or at least fall close to the supposed PS3 launch date.

First who is MCV second it would make sence to relese it late 2006. That way the PS3 hype will end and its neer christmas but the fans would be VERY disapointed. Heres to hoping there wrong.(I need my SSB3)

MVC is a retailer (Europe only?)... stands for Music, Video and Computer Games. But they're not the most reputable, and are unlikely to get the news this far in advance of everyone else.

I thought it stood for Music & Video Club... the one here stopped selling games around the end of the N64 generation.

i think the rev. and ps3 will kill the 360 in sales to the point that in about five years the microsoft gaming division will crash making room for a third party company to step up

Didn't think it'd be necessary to make a new thread for this, so I thought I'd post it here, with this thread being about the Revolution and all... It seems Nintendo has announced a press conference: Reports have emerged that Nintendo has scheduled a 60-minute press conference on the opening day of the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany—Wednesday, August 17th, at 10:30 AM. The content of the press conference, which is title “Expand the Definition of Gaming,” is as expected, a mystery. Will we catch a glimpse of the fabled controller? Be treated to some game footage? C’mon Nintendo, it’s time!Source: www.joystiq.com/entry/1234000963052989Even though it doesn't say it anywhere, it's probably about the Revolution. And while I somewhat doubt it, I really hope they'll show off that neato controller they've been working on. EDIT: Ugh, silly me. Forgot to put up the link to the site of that Game Convention. Well, here it is! www.gc-germany.de/presse_e.shtml

I doubt they'd show the controller at a German games convention to be honest - but maybe they could give us a look at some of the games. the Tokyo Game Show seems like a better place to show the controller to me. Of course, since Nintendo has their press conference before Microsoft and Sony at the LPC, maybe it would be a good time to show it off.
So it doubt they will, but I hope so.

Yeah, this is still a bit soon. Sony hasn't finalised their own controller yet, and Nintendo won't unveil anything until then.
But if we got to see some Rev GAMES, I would be more than happy.

Seeing as how the controller is likely to be the only thing that will make the Revolution revolutionary, and Mr. Miyamoto himself said it would be easy for Sony and Microsoft to copy, I hope they don't show it until the last possible second. (Possibly even at the launch of the system, itself.)
I just thought of something. Since Revolution is not likely to be as powerful as the 360 or PS3, and Nintendo is convinced that Sony and Microsoft will copy the controller at the first possible chance, then if (or when) they do, would that make the Revolution obsolete? I mean, if the revolutionary aspect gets copied and used on a more powerful console, what else would the Revolution have going for it?

Well, I'd assume it would take some time for Sony and Microsoft to copy the thing. Hopefully in this time Nintendo has advertised enough and shown off enough games that people will be so interested in it that it wont matter if/when MS and Sony release their cheap knock-offs of it. But in regard to your comment about keeping the revolutionary aspect secret until launch, thats just crazy - if nobody knows what it is, who is going to buy it? You could say that they could advertise their exclusive games to genreate interested, but even even you launched the GCN with every exclusive it ended up having I still doubt it would have done much better. I really hope Nintendo have come up with something that can't be copied all that easily. But who knows?

You're right. Maybe waiting until launch would be a bit extreme. Still, I think Nintendo is doing the right thing by keeping it under wraps as long as possible.
